Did you know your spine functions to protect your nervous system?

The 24 bones that make up your spine function as the covering of your spinal cord. The bones then form joints that articulate with each other to allow us to bend forward, backwards, side to side, and rotate.

Sometimes these bones can become displaced from things like stress, trauma, or injury. When they become stuck out of place it causes swelling which can put pressure on nerves. These nerves go to things like organs (heart, lungs, etc), muscles, glands, and even your skin! When the nerve pressure occurs it slows down the communication between the brain and the body. This is why it is so important to get your spine checked.
