26 Years of Excellence! Matthews Recognized for Outstanding Financial Reporting

We’re proud to announce that the Town of Matthews has once again been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). This marks our 26th consecutive year receiving this honor!

UPDATE: We have a brief update to share regarding CSX’s plans to turn nearly 200 currently free spaces into paid parking in our historic, vibrant downtown.

We are pleased to report that late yesterday we received word from CSX Transportation that they have accepted our offer to engage in further dialog regarding this situation. We are cautiously optimistic that this is a positive step toward a mutually agreeable outcome and look forward to the conversation.

We'll keep you updated as we move forward, and in the meantime, you can always find the latest information at www.matthewsnc.gov/parking. We recently updated the webpage with some Frequently Asked Questions so check those out.
