Some take flower sprouts as a sign of spring - my sign is the girls back into producing eggs 😊

They take the winter off, I let them rest. No extra lights or all that other crazy stuff.

Rest, quality food and water, a clean coop and all the natural goodies the ground gives them.

Hi all! My name is Rachel and I am the crazy chicken lady of this page ☺️ I would like to take this opportunity to share an organization that is near and dear to my heart and that is The North Fork Breast Health Coalition . Since 2015 the NFBHC has organized an annual Gala. Unfortunately the 2020 and 2021 was canceled due to Covid restrictions and protocols, but this year it is happening!

I am a 7yr breast cancer survivor. I was diagnosed December 3, 2014 - 6 weeks after my daughter was born. I underwent a bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction and endured chemo treatments and many, many doctor visits.

I remember reaching out to the NFBHC and I cannot speak highly enough about Susan the President with whom I spoke to on the phone and the support that this coalition provides for all cancer survivor and thrivers ❤️❤️

Please check out the link in my bio, if you cannot attend this event, I encourage you make a donation. The money that the coalition receives stays local, helping out survivors in need.

I’ve included personal pictures in this post to highlight that this Gala has been a part of my survivor life since the coalition had its first one and to show anyone who may be going through something like this now - I am here to say, yes, it is undoubtedly a tough road, but you will make it.

I could never thank my family and my daughter enough for always being by my side and continuing to be the unwavering support that they have always been to me.

Egg production is increasing everyday🥚

My girls did not stop laying 100% through the winter - they just slowed down, but it’s so nice to see the # of eggs increase each day ☀️Spring is surely on its way!!!

Lots of snow here on the North Fork of Long Island ❄️🥴

Chickens have a covered run, but they are definitely choosing to stay in their coops! Thank goodness for heated waterers. I will be checking on them periodically, the wind isn’t doing us any favors either.
