🍼 Avoid Baby Bottle Tooth Decay!

Did you know that putting your baby to bed with a bottle of milk, formula, juice, or sweetened drinks can lead to cavities? These sugars can stick to their tiny teeth, causing early childhood caries—commonly known as baby bottle tooth decay.

Here’s how you can protect your little one’s smile:
✔️ Put your baby to bed with water only if they need a bottle.
✔️ Start brushing their teeth as soon as they appear.
✔️ Schedule their first dental visit by age 1!

Healthy habits start early! Keep those baby teeth strong and cavity-free!

09/19/2024

🙏🏽 Encourage Healthy Habits. Children often mimic their parents, so establishing good dental hygiene habits early sets them up for success. Teaching children how to properly brush and floss their teeth helps them take responsibility for their oral health as they grow older.

🧠 Did You Know? 🧠

💧Hydration is just as important for your child’s oral health as it is for their overall well-being! Dehydration can lead to dry mouth, increasing the risk of cavities, gum issues, and even bad breath in children.

Here’s why staying hydrated is key to keeping those little smiles healthy:
1️⃣ Boosts saliva production: Water helps create saliva, which protects teeth by neutralizing acids and washing away food particles.
2️⃣ Strengthens growing teeth: Drinking fluoridated water helps protect your child’s developing teeth and fights cavities naturally!
3️⃣ Freshens breath: Water rinses away bacteria and food debris, keeping your child’s mouth clean and fresh.

💧 Tip: Encourage your child to drink water throughout the day, especially after meals and snacks. It’s a simple way to help maintain their beautiful, healthy smile! 😁

🦷 Healthy Teeth Start with Clean Gums! 🦷

When it comes to brushing, it’s not just about the teeth—your gums need love too! Keeping your gums clean is essential for overall oral health, as it helps prevent gum disease, reduces plaque build-up, and keeps your smile healthy and strong. 🌟

Here’s how to include gum care in your brushing routine:

1️⃣ Use a Soft-Bristled Toothbrush: A soft brush helps protect your gums from damage while effectively cleaning.
2️⃣ Angle Your Brush at 45 Degrees: Position your toothbrush at a 45-degree angle to the gum line to reach both the teeth and the gums.
3️⃣ Use Gentle, Circular Motions: Gently brush along the gum line with small, circular motions. Avoid scrubbing too hard, as this can irritate the gums.
4️⃣ Don’t Forget to Floss: Flossing daily removes plaque and food particles from between the teeth and below the gum line, where a toothbrush can’t reach.
5️⃣ Rinse with Mouthwash: An antiseptic mouthwash helps kill bacteria that brushing and flossing might miss, keeping your gums healthy and your breath fresh!

Remember, healthy gums are the foundation of a healthy smile! Make sure to include them in your daily brushing routine to keep your child’s smile bright and strong! 😊💪

🦷 Did you know? After your child has gone through a cold, fever, or any illness, it’s a good idea to replace their toothbrush! 🪥 Germs can linger on toothbrush bristles, and using the same toothbrush after being sick can increase the risk of reinfection.

Keep those smiles healthy by replacing toothbrushes after every illness. It’s a small step that makes a big difference in maintaining good oral hygiene and overall health!

09/10/2024

🦷🌟 Our mission is simple: to make the world a brighter place, one smile at a time!

🦷 Gum Health Tip! Stay hydrated! Drinking plenty of water helps wash away food particles and bacteria that can lead to plaque build-up and gum disease. Water also keeps your mouth moist, which is essential for good oral health. So, keep sipping and keep smiling! 😊

🦷 We use X-rays to provide the best possible care for our patients whenever it’s appropriate!

However, there are times when it’s best to wait, especially for our littlest patients. We understand that every child is unique, and sometimes X-rays might not be possible during a particular visit.

Dr. Mohamed explains more about when and why we use X-rays and when it might be best to wait in this video.

We are so grateful for your kind words and for trusting us with your daughter’s care!

“Growing Smiles was well worth the wait! I had to wait a month before my daughter’s first appointment, but luckily she has not gotten her first tooth yet so I agreed to wait. I’m very thankful I did because my daughter was so happy during her appointment and was not scared at all! I look forward to keeping her care with them.”

Thank you again for your trust and support! 😊🦷

🦷 Imagine That!

Did you know? Baby teeth start forming before birth! That’s right—those tiny teeth begin developing while your baby is still in the womb. 🌟

It’s amazing to think that even before your little one arrives, their first smile is already in the making. Early dental care is so important, even before those teeth come in! Let’s keep those tiny teeth healthy from the start.

We appreciate the great review!

08/16/2024

Wow! We are over the moon with this amazing review!

"I can't say enough great things about Growing Smiles Pediatric Dentistry! From the moment we walked in, the entire team made us feel so welcome and comfortable. Dr. Becerra was incredibly kind and patient while working with my toddler, making the whole experience stress-free. My daughter absolutely loved the dental assistant, Denise, who was the SWEETEST and so interactive with her. She kindly answered all of my questions and was very reassuring throughout the visit. Denise really made my little one and I feel at ease during the entire process.

We also had the pleasure of meeting another dental assistant, Natalia, who was just as wonderful. Today, we also met Dr. Pinto, who was attentive, caring, and treated my daughter with such gentleness.

The lady at the front desk is also super sweet. I can't remember her name, but she sits at the middle computer and has a little ducky that my daughter loves to play with every time we visit. Her warm welcome really sets the tone for the visit.

A huge thank you to the entire team at Growing Smiles Pediatric Dentistry! Your hard work and dedication to the kiddos of the RGV are truly appreciated. We are so grateful for the positive experience you’ve provided for our family. You get the 5-star Bella approval! 🌟" - Sabrina
