Public Works Crew is out in full force, filling up sandbags for the public!

Sandbags will be available today to 5:00 p.m. at the Public Works Workshop located at the corner of West Venus and Laguna Boulevard!

After 5 p.m., this site is “self-bagging,” meaning the bags and sand are provided for free, but residents and businesses will need to bring shovels and fill their own bags.

* Residents will be allowed five bags per property.
* Businesses will be allowed ten bags per property.

⛈The City of Laredo is closely monitoring Hurricane Beryl's trajectory and the possibility of rain with strong winds in the upcoming days. The Emergency Operation Center is at Level 3 and began tracking the storm since last week with the National Weather Service. If you do not have a storm preparation plan, now is the perfect time to set one:

CITIZENS OF MERCEDES: A self-serve sandbag station will be available tomorrow (7/03/2024) at 3:00 PM and again at 6:00 PM at the Knights of Columbus parking lot while supplies last. This will be a first come first serve basis, filler bags will be available. Please bring your own shovel.
