For those of you who may not have gotten over to visit us yet, here’s a look “around” the shop; try not to get dizzy as I take ya for a little “spin”… 😆 Got just about everything in there one needs to have you a good time; a full bar with delicious cocktails, a bunch of tables and chairs, good tunes always playin’ on a fine audio system, a game on the jumbo TV, boozy ice cream of course and a super cool crowd of people enjoying themselves and one another too! We try to create a nice laidback, friendly atmosphere where everyone can hang out for a spell and indulge in a sweet boozy treat, any day, all day, every day… cause everyone deserves a little something special now and again! It’s a whole degree cooler today than it was yesterday! I’ll take that; it’s the little victories that add up doncha know… 😉 This trend will continue into next week till we’re well back into the low 90’s. We might even see some rain showers pop up before the week is through and my crispy lawn would sure appreciate that! Another groovy reel by Diana, the making of one of our new ice cream cocktails, the “Irish Coffee Extra Spiked”! And the BTO tune, absolutely classic… 😎 Start with some Mr Black coffee liqueur, add some Jameson Irish whiskey and then break out the “Irish Coffee Buzz Buzz” ice cream! Put all that in a stainless steel blender cup and let ‘er rip! In just a moment you getchoo one of the tastiest frosty cold potential potables this side of the Rio Grande… 🤠 Chocolate covered espresso beans provide a little crunch and the whipped cream seals the deal! I think this just might be the last day of our August heat wave, thank goodness! Temps soaring up to 106 today… 🥵 Y’all stay cool out there! Relief is in sight as of tomorrow when those highs sink back towards the still toasty but more reasonable upper 90’s. I’m thinkin’ y’all are gonna like this one… 😉 Many thanks to Diana for making the reel! How to make a boozy ice cream sammich! First, start with two fresh baked Snickerdoodle cookies, soft and chewy. Next, getchoo a few scoops of Fireball and Rumchata infused “Dickersnoodle” ice cream and load up one of them cookies. Third, cap that sammich with another cookie, top with whipped cream, dust with cinnamon and stick a cherry on it for good luck! Sharyn and I had us some fun over at Gather in Downtown Mckinney just the other night! Our good buddy Darrell invited us over for a nice dinner and some line dancing instructions that was held as a fundraising event for a wonderful and worthy McKinney charity called Leia's Kids! Leia, herself a cancer survivor and an amazingly engaging and energetic young woman, strives to provide hope and support to children and their families battling childhood cancer. In case y’all are wondering why I ain’t dancing, I’ve discovered that my feet are dyslexic and cannot follow even the most simple set of instructions… 😆 It’s gonna be a hot one today and tomorrow before those high temps settle back down on Friday. Everyday is national something day and today happens to be a real goodun! It’s “National Root Beer Float Day” and lemme tell ya, we do root beer floats as good as root beer floats can possibly get! I just love ‘em! We can make ‘em kid friendly of course but, us being us, we can make ‘em “special” too… 😉 An ice cold boozy “Not Your Fathers Root Beer” is a great place to start! I like to kick it up a notch with some root beer schnapps, vanilla vodka or bourbon if I’m livin’ on the wild side of a day… 😆 For ice cream our Killer Vaniller works real well, but even better is our root beer schnapps infused “Root Beer Vanilla Floatila”! If the weekend started early yesterday it’s gonna be in full swing for sure today! It’s fascinating creature day today, if ya didn’t know, and here’s a real fascinating creature I found over at my neighbors house. This bird is called a “killdeer” and it builds its nest (or lack there of) right out on the open ground. Both the male and the female take turns protecting the eggs so I’m not sure which this is. What makes this bird so remarkable is that it fakes injury when something (me in this case) approaches and tries to lead the impending danger away from its nest. Look closely as I zoom in and you’ll see the very well camouflaged eggs and hear the killdeer attempt to avert my attention away from them! My friend placed two pieces of brick on the ground so he wouldn’t accidentally harm the eggs with tractor or truck. Incredible, isn’t it! Alright, I’m puttin’ this out there today cause I think the majority of rain has finally moved on by! This nearly apocalyptic deluge took place this past Sunday and the few of us that were in the shop were just amazed at the sheer volume of water that was falling from the sky! Virginia Street had at least 6” running over it with zero visibility, so much that a car had to stop, park out front and wait it out! This lasted a solid 15 minutes and dumped who knows how much water in that short period of time. A kayak would have been a useful mode of transportation if you was headin’ east… 😆 We should see some much needed sunshine this afternoon and for the rest of the week too; tell me that’s not welcome news! It’s a big weekend downtown with the Texas Music Revolution taking place! We’re joining the fun with singer/songwriter Lou Ann Price Music on Friday night and country music duo Nikki Nelson and Steve Oliver on Saturday! Y’all don’t wanna miss either of these two very talented acts; both would be at home on far bigger stages than ours! We’re very fortunate to have them playing our place!
