Tell us about yourself:
🔸Originally from Arkansas, met my lovely wife, Ana, in 1995. Married in 1998 and have two children Evan and Luke. Moved to McKinney in 2001. Grew up playing lots of soccer, running cross country, and played trumpet through college at University of Arkansas. I’m a Landscape Designer focused on outdoor living areas, but mostly take care of my family with lots of cooking and hanging out with all of them. They are my priority in life.

Normal class time:
🔸Noon or 4pm. Won’t catch me up crazy early unless I have a project moving.

Why you started CrossFit:
🔸 I woke up 2 years ago and was very disappointed with how I’ve handled my health. Was becoming less mobile and that scared me. I decided to make a change and overhaul my life by focusing on my heart, strength, and mobility.

What has been your Biggest victory so far at CF SBR?
🔸Just being able to do Pull Ups now! That’s been a good gauge as to where I am in my progress.

Favorite movement/workout:
🔸Cleans and Burpees. And of course any run. (I know you just saw the run part and think I’m crazy)

Least favorite movement:
🔸Overhead Squats

Favorite thing about CF SBR:
🔸Love the culture Ken and Jess have established! The community of members are so great and always encouraging.

What is your next personal goal:
🔸 Work toward doing the workouts at Rx more consistently. Never going to stop Lord willing!

The global CrossFit community is grieving the loss of an exceptional athlete and a remarkable person. Rest in peace

It's week here in Texas!!! After the Open, quarterfinals and semifinals the top athletes are coming into Ft Worth this week to compete for the top spots!

It's awesome to see these athletes coming into the DFW but what is even cooler we have 2 of the top athletes in the world at our home gym! .teel Cathy Teel and Thomas Izbicki have qualified for the Masters 55+ team of 4 that will compete Aug 29-Sept 1 in Birmingham AL!! So as we get ready to celebrate and cheer on the athletes here at the Games this week, let's not forget the hard work and dedication that Cat and Thomas have put in to get 2 conveted spots in the Masters division!

Congrats guys - you make our community proud ☺️ give them a shout out next time you see them in class!

🔸Tell us about yourself: My name is Rowena Webb, but most people call me Row. Born and raised in Northern California. Moved to Tyler Texas back in 2001 for college, where I met my husband Derrick. When I got married I relocated to Michigan where my husband was from. We have relocated to Texas a year ago for my husband’s new job. Been married for almost 21 years. Have 3 kids, Noah (18), Marciana (13), and Alexandra (10).
If you know me I absolutely love being a Mom! And coaching CrossFit is a passion of mine!

🔸Normal class time:
used to be 8:30am. Now mostly in my garage.

🔸Why you started CrossFit:
I’ve always been active! Did Jen Jitsu for five years, volleyball, track, basketball, tennis in high school. Wanted to continue to be active as an adult, tried weight lifting, and Zumba 😂, boot camps. Something felt like it was missing. Discovered CrossFit and loved it! and it was something I enjoyed doing with my Mom. she is the one who encouraged me to become a coach about a year after she passed from COVID. I loved that CrossFit can be for whatever age and fitness level you’re currently at. And the community was something unique and inspiring to me.

🔸What has been your Biggest victory so far at CF SBR?
Jess and Ken giving me the opportunity to coach. I’ve learned and grown so much this past year. Obtained my CF-L2.

🔸Favorite movement/workout:
box jumps, Sn**ches.

🔸Least favorite movement:
the assault bike and running.

🔸Favorite thing about CF SBR:
the community!

🔸What is your next personal goal:
finally got an MRI on my shoulder! So it’s nice to finally have some answers. After I get that taken care of I cannot wait to start sn**ching again, and being able to starting hanging from the rig and work on gymnastic movements!
And would like to obtain my Olympic Level 1 and 2.

🔸Tell me about yourself: My name is Cole DeVoss. I am a Physical Therapist and CrossFit coach. I own a cashed based recovery, performance and physical therapy company HIT & Recovery, and operate out of CrossFit SBR & CrossFit McKinney. I am married and have twin boys. I am a former D3 collegiate soccer player. I enjoy spending time at the gym, spending time with family & friends and live sporting events!

🔸Normal Class Time: I coach the early morning classes Mon, Tues, Thurs & Friday and the evening classes on Wednesday. I also like to go to Blake’s class at 9:30

🔸I started CrossFit because I was looking for something to do after playing soccer, and loved the intensity and variety of CrossFit.

🔸What has been your biggest victory at SBR: Starting my own business with the help and encouragement of Ken and Jess. Also shotgunning beers after Murph and recently getting my ring muscle up

🔸 I'm Rebecca Ferrell, or you can call me Becca. Been happily married to my awesome hubby Josh for 15 years now. We have two amazing girls, Isabella (13) and Sophia (6), who keep us on our toes and aging. I've got a serious passion for coaching. It's not just a job for me, it's a way of life. If you know me, you'll know that I can't help but coach, even when I'm not officially coaching I’m coaching.

Why you started CrossFit:
🔸 I was flipping through channels and saw a group of ladies with some serious Abs. I had no clue what CrossFit was but I found a box the next day, threw up my first wod and kept showing up everyday after that.

What has been your Biggest victory so far at CF SBR?
🔸 255lb Back squat, 185lb power clean (let’s go 200)

Favorite movement/workout:
🔸Pull-Ups, Cleans really anything with a barbel

Least favorite movement: 
🔸Wall Walks - I have vertigo and wall walks are often a trigger.

Favorite thing about CF SBR:
🔸Our Corner 😂 but seriously so many things if I had to choose I would say the Programming, something not every gym has or they purchase it.

What is your next personal goal: 
🔸 Fitness Goal would be a 200lb squat Clean

Tell us about yourself:
🔸 I am 30 married to Ashlan with 2 boys Carson 9 and Rowan 5. Carson is our calm, cool, and collected one and Rowan is our wild one 😂 We just moved to McKinney, originally from Phoenix, AZ. I love doing any outdoor sports and activities, Carson and I do a lot of wakeboarding, I love mountain biking, paddle boarding, hiking, just started getting into some pickle ball and always want to try out new activities. I love coaching, competing in (At a low level) and watching the sport of CrossFit and will continue doing it for as long as I can!

Normal class time:
🔸 I bounce around class times, but you’ll never see me working out before 830

Why you started CrossFit:
🔸 I’ve always been huge into fitness since I started high school, I had done a lot of different training methods including traditional weight training and body building, swimming, boxing, calisthenics, fitness programs like P90X or Insanity and when I finally decided to try CrossFit it was a combination of everything and I loved it

What has been your Biggest victory so far at CF SBR?
🔸Getting back into coaching, I’ve coached CrossFit for about 7 years and out for 6 months and missed it a lot so I’m happy to be back coaching at SBR!

Favorite movement/workout:
🔸Favorite movement is toss up between Cleans and rope climbs and my favorite workout is the hero workout Luce

🔸 Hi! I’m Ashley Pinkerton (will be Sauls once I get around to changing my name😅) and I’ve been a member at SBR for a little over a year now. I’m 26 and moved to Texas last October with my now husband. I’m originally from Phoenix Arizona but I am so proud to be a Texan now! Nathan and I recently got married in Scottsdale, AZ and are so excited to start married life.

🔸 4pm

Why you started CrossFit:
🔸 I got into CrossFit back in AZ through my aunt who is a coach at my former gym! I started in order to clean up my lifestyle, I was 20 and overweight with no understanding on how to live healthily. I started with no athletic background but I found a love for it!

What has been your Biggest victory so far at CF SBR?
🔸 Recently I have been working with Jess on my nutritional goals, I feel such pride in my accomplishments so far in gaining muscle and losing fat! Jess has really helped me work through the mental side of nutrition and it has only been 2 months! I can’t wait to see my results by the end of fit and festive!

Favorite movement/workout:
🔸 Overhead squats!

Least favorite movement:
🔸 Burpees/Thrusters

Favorite thing about CF SBR:
🔸 My workout wife Sophia ✨ and ofcourse the welcoming and uplifting environment!

What is your next personal goal:
🔸 My next goal on my fitness journey is to work on my upper body strength. I would like to become more proficient on the rig especially.

And check out his body fat percentage change 🙌🏻 Nutrition with Jess and being consistent in the mornings have been life changing for him.

🔸Tell us about yourself:
I am a military veteran, and when I got out of the military I became the laziest person in the world. I was just like a lot of veterans who get out and see you don’t have to be up at 4a.m and workout and took advantage of it. I self medicated with alcohol to fight my mental health issues and it made my life take a turn for the worse. Before I started coming to the gym I was 240 pounds with 32% body fat and could barely even move. I had a battle with the VA that messed me up and now exercise has helped me heal mentally and physically.

🔸Normal class time:
4:30 a.m. I had to go back to the military and start doing the stuff that kept me disciplined. When I first started at the gym it really frustrated me coming to that class seeing females lift more than me but it is part of the reason I work so hard to get back how I’m supposed to be.

🔸Why I started CrossFit:
After seeing how unhealthy I was I knew I had to do something. I tried to get a personal trainer but when they told me the rates I cursed them out. I was scared to start it but I knew I needed something challenging to help me get back disciplined. Now that I started it I can’t go back to normal workouts because they are boring to me now.

🔸What has been my biggest victory so far:
I have lost 31 pounds and gained 13 pounds of muscle since the day after Memorial Day. I also cut my body fat percentage from 32 to 16%.

🔸Favorite movement/workout:
None I actually hate them all I just do it because I know I need it for a better quality of life.

🔸Least favorite movement:
Squats, Sn**ches, and Power Cleans

🔸Favorite thing about CrossFit SBR:
The people at the gym try to elevate you and help you get better. This gym has changed my life for the better.

🔸Next personal goal:
To work on mobility, cut more body fat, and gain more muscle

🔸 Born in NW PA and grew up swimming and competing as the youngest in family of 4. I Swam collegiately at University of South Carolina where I met my husband. I have lived in Texas on two separate occasions and in between lived in South Carolina and Florida, where my husband was coaching and I was working in the dental industry. I Love to compete and hate to lose. We have one son who is 13) moved to McKinney 2 years ago and have loved being Texan. We attend Milestone Church regularly and love serving in the community.

Why you started CrossFit:
🔸 I went from swimming in the masters division to running to triathlon and even competed in Spartan Races. I enjoyed those but realized I loved to train and compete. CrossFit allows me to do just that while also proving I am not too old to learn new things and improve. I enjoy pushing myself physically and CrossFit does that.

What has been your Biggest victory so far at CF SBR?
🔸Competing in my first ever open / completing 1 wall facing push up and handstand walks-even if it was only 5 feet🤪

Favorite movement/workout:
🔸chippers, push jerks and burpees(yup, I said what I said). Chief

Least favorite movement:
🔸ohs and thrusters!!!

Favorite thing about CF SBR:
🔸love the community of our 8:30 class / I love the coaching and the fact that our coaches want to see us improve and to be better at the different movements

🔸Hello everyone I am Garrick Moreno. My day job is a Delivery Executive for Accenture, delivering large Business Transformations through technology. The rest of the time I am a to two amazing young women, Emma and Stella. CrossFit and especially SBR has become more of my lifestyle more than something I do daily. When I have spare time, you can definitely find me golfing.

Normal class time:

Why you started CrossFit:
🔸I started CrossFit in 2015 because I love the structure, the intensity and it allows you to push your body to do things you never imagined.

What has been your Biggest victory so far at CF SBR?
🔸My biggest victory at SBR is at this point in my life, I have never been this fit metabolically or from a strength perspective. SBR has given me a platform and program that I can really do some amazing things. Getting a chance to be at the top of the leaderboard sometimes with the amazing athletes that we have is truly an honor.

Favorite movement/workout:
🔸Give me a Barbell and give me Burpees all day long!

Least favorite movement:
🔸I really don’t have a least favorite movement although you can see a little truffle shuffle when I do HSPU 🙂

Favorite thing about CF SBR:
🔸I have had the opportunity to see a lot of boxes around the world. My favorite thing about SBR is Ken, Jess and Jen. Truly difference makers in programming, synergies with other companies, facilities and the yearning to get people better. You will never find better owner/operators.

What is your next personal goal:
🔸I am in the midst of a body transformation and my goal is to completely get off of hypertension medicine.

🔸 My name is Ryan Fritz, I am a believer, husband to , and Everett’s Dad (and Oliver too 🐶). I am the Director of Operations at Blind Manufacturing company here in McKinney, and I also am an entrepreneur. Shoutout , if you’ve had hail/storm damage, let me know we will take care of you 😉 I am a diehard sports fan. I love my Green Bay and my Oklahoma Sooners. If there’s sports on I’m usually watching it with my beautiful bride by my side and my crazy two year old somewhere close asking if we can switch the TV to Toy Story or Cars. 😊

🔸5:30 AM! And 7AM cardio on Saturdays!

Why you started CrossFit:
🔸 Ex Athlete (rough depiction) and needed some constructive coaching in my life.

What has been your Biggest victory so far at CF SBR?
🔸Overcoming a couple injuries and realizing the difference of pushing myself when I am being an actual wuss, and pulling back when needed.

Favorite movement/workout:
🔸Love me some Row/Run complexes, with some weights thrown in there too.

Least favorite movement:
🔸Devil’s press and Thrusters 🤮🤮

Favorite thing about CF SBR:
🔸You can come as you are. No judgement, at all, which is incredible. And the accountability is top notch as well, everyone wants you everyone to be at your best!

What is your next personal goal:
🔸 Be on the cover of magazine. Just kidding. Drop a couple LBs so my son doesn’t look back at pictures when he was young and say he had a fat dad 😂

Tell us about yourself:
🔸I am originally from Utah, we moved here 7 years ago for work.
I have been married for 15 years to my smoke show of a hubby Dan Luke ❤️ (5:30 am guy), mama to three beautiful babes, Tate(11), Leo(8), Alta(5). I have been a hairstylist for the last 16 years and have loved every second of it. I am a huge sports fan; football and baseball are my favorites. I love all things pop culture, music, movies, concerts. I love Texas and we are so lucky to call SBR home.

Normal class time:
🔸8:30(woot woot!) most days, 9:30 here and there.

Why you started CrossFit:
🔸 Dan had been doing it for years and always heard about how awesome it was. I had always done body pump classes and traditional weightlifting...wanted to try something new!

What has been your Biggest victory so far at CF SBR?
🔸Pull-ups!
Cycling the barbell more efficiently

Favorite movement/workout:
🔸CLEANS of all kinds ❤️, squats, lunges.
Partner workouts

Least favorite movement:
🔸Burpees and Running

Favorite thing about CF SBR:
🔸The people of course! I think every single person mentions this in their own spotlights but it is a HUGE part of why people stay. Nothing like sweating with all your favorite people who are cheering you on 🫶🏻.
I also love how CrossFit pushes you physically, as well as mentally, challenging you in all the best ways!

What is your next personal goal:
🔸200 lbs back squat club, 160 squat clean, and my nemesis double unders.

🔸originally from CA but I moved here before it was trendy. I played a little Pac 10 football and spent some time in the Army where I traveled and saw different parts of the world. I have 2 kids ; boy and girl. Both have German / American dual citizenship. I work in finance and enjoy all sports, especially football. Which reminds me.

🔸4:30 / 5:30 AM while everyone sleeps

Why you started CrossFit:
🔸 I desperately needed motivated people to be around to help kickstart my new journey. I found myself with out a work out partner and I was not having as much fun trying to do it alone so everyone at SBR really plays a part in that.

What has been your Biggest victory so far at CF SBR?
🔸my biggest victory is I’m not my biggest anymore! I’m getting back my mobility and living relatively pain free.

Favorite movement/workout:
🔸front squats

Least favorite movement:
🔸over heads squats because I can’t ego lift 😂

Favorite thing about CF SBR:
🔸easily the community. I would not give the effort with out y’all.

What is your next personal goal:
🔸I wrote down dubs and hand stand push ups, but honestly I just wanted to participate on the board 🤦🏻‍♂️ the year is not over yet though

Tell us about yourself:
🔸Hi! I’ve always loved fitness and attended DBU where I got my bachelors degree in kinesiology. I worked a while in the medical field before marrying nick gilmore and having two kids. Growing up with three brothers and constantly around athletes and sports really gave me a passion for intense exercise. I did boxing and MMA all throughout college until sparring injuries had me looking for something else exciting. My husband introduced me to crossfit and it was the perfect mix of intense and community!

Normal class time:
🔸1200 or 400

Why you started CrossFit:
🔸 I wanted something intense but also something to keep me accountable to my fitness journey.

What has been your Biggest victory so far at CF SBR?
🔸Relearning a sn**ch form after being 9 months pregnant twice!

Favorite movement/workout:
🔸Chipper workouts! And hang cleans.

Least favorite movement:
🔸Clusters 😑

Tell us about yourself:
🔸 I am from Baton Rouge, LA. I have been married for 21 years to the most amazing woman, Joanna. Almost 5 years ago, we had just two children (Beck (16) & Sallie-Jewel (14)), and we thought we were in the home stretch, until The Lord thought otherwise, and gave us Thatcher who is 4. Everyone says to me, “Well that must keep you young,” which I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong, but it has done the opposite because I feel old, very very old.
During my spare time when I’m not in the gym, I run a food brand for a professional baseball player. But my real job is that I’m an Uber driver for my 3 kids!

Normal class time:
🔸 I’m a Nooner, sometimes 4pm. But I can assure you that you will never catch me at the 4:30am or 5:30am…those folks crazy!

Why you started CrossFit:
🔸 I was an athlete through college, but after hanging up the spikes, I struggled to find a physical activity that I enjoyed. After completing a four-year grad degree in 2011, I was in the worst shape of my life. We moved to San Diego and a Marine Officer friend invited me to work out with him on base. We did crossfit-esque workouts, and I fell in love with it and have kept going ever since.

What has been your Biggest victory so far at CF SBR?
🔸 Showing Up! I always say, walking through those doors is a VICTORY for every person that does it. And I guess Increasing my Back Squat by 80lbs, because Jess makes us squat so much!

Favorite movement/workout:
🔸 Sn**ch. Highly technical move that can never be mastered and it takes crazy discipline and patience to get better at it.

Least favorite movement:
🔸 Thrusters! One of many movements NOT helpful to a tall person.

Favorite thing about CF SBR:
🔸 The atmosphere…which starts with Ken, Jess and all the coaches. All the members are so welcoming and supportive to any athlete that walks through the door. I have been a member at 5 different CF gyms the past 12 years…this is hands down the BEST!

What is your next personal goal:
🔸 Eat more protein and I should probably run a little more (But should I?!)

🔸 I was born in Corinth, Mississippi but my family moved to Texas when I was two weeks old. Played multiple sports growing up but ended up playing baseball at Paris Junior college and Dallas Baptist. Currently I work for the Richardson FD as a Firefighter/Paramedic and am married to my beautiful wife Kaylee and we have a 1 month old daughter Kennedy!

Normal class time:
🔸 8:30 am, but when life happens I just try to get to the gym whenever I can lol

Why you started CrossFit:
🔸 My brother was partial owner of CrossFit Addison when I was in high school so I got exposed to it fairly early and my brother-in-law competed before he transitioned to Oly Lifting. I wanted something competitive and didn’t want the Globo Gym experience.

What has been your Biggest victory so far at CF SBR?
🔸Doing partner WODs with my wife and not arguing! Haha she’s very competitive.

Favorite movement/workout:
🔸 Sn**ch/ Clean & Jerk

Least favorite movement:
🔸Running and Burpees

Favorite thing about CF SBR:
🔸 THE COMMUNITY!! I feel like it’s a common theme but it’s truly been a blessing to meet such awesome people and have it feel like home every time we walk in the door!

What is your next personal goal:
🔸 To not have a dad bod lol

Tell us about yourself:
🔸I am the youngest of three girls. My mom is full German, born and raised, and my Dad is full Puerto Rican. I was born in North Carolina but moved to McKinney, TX in 2006 because of my dad's job. I graduated from McKinney North High School and went to Collin College before moving to San Marcos and getting my Bachelor's in Public Health. I am currently getting my Masters's in Public Health and I graduate next year. I work as a Medical Receptionist. I am a dog mom to two girls, Sammie and Trixie. Outside of the gym, you can find me hanging out with my friends drinking some dranks, at a show/concert (I'm a big fan of Machine Gun Kelly), or snuggling up in my bed with my dogs.

Normal class time:
🔸 4 pm or 5pm

Why you started CrossFit:
🔸 I started Olympic Weightlifting in 2017 and to get stronger I joined CrossFit in 2018 and boy did it work. I loved CrossFit so much that I've stuck with it since.

What has been your biggest victory so far at CF SBR?
🔸There are so many. 100lbs Squat Sn**ch, Double Unders, 145lbs Squat Clean, Rope Climbs. The list really could go on.

Favorite movement/workout:
🔸Double Unders, Rope Climbs, Sn**ching, Cleans, heavy barbell complexes, Anything with a dumbbell

Least favorite movement:
🔸Barbell Thrusters, Wall balls, Front Squats. My quads always blow up 🥲

Favorite thing about CF SBR:
🔸The coaches, the community, and everything else in between. I love how involved Ken, Jess, Jen, and Morgan are in helping everyone get better and taking the time to get to know everyone. I met a handful of people back at the Sigma CrossFit days and I’m so glad to have found my CrossFit family, it's refreshing to still see those faces. 🧡

What is your next personal goal:
🔸 Hand Stand Push Ups!!!
