Dying over all the green and other fall tones we're working with in current projects! This mood board shows different ways we bring texture and unique blends of style into often traditional bones here in Texas.
All the layers and elements that come after the more permanent pieces (finish work, floors, stair runners, etc) are where the magic really starts to come together!
Have a great weekend friends! Doing anything fun for fall!?! It's 99 degrees here so we're going to Hill Country Hotel centered around water activities for fall break. It's super festive 🤣🫠🫠

Some new fresh Religious Art we’re loving by
Time to add in some seasonal patterns people!! Fall and winter are all about the layers, both in dressing our bodies and our houses!
This is a great time to try adding in classic patterns you always want more of, or maybe something a little crazy/more saturated than you normally would!
Easy places
to try a new layer:
🐅Pillows
🐅Throws
🐅Extra pieces of accent furniture
🐅Rugs
🐅An extra table lamp here and there
🐅Hand towels/ linens
🐅Table cloths
🐅Tree skirts
What are your fav winter textures? Mine are dark chinoiserie’s and thicker animal print—-are we surprised?!
Truly these patterns can be used all year long, but I never pass up an excuse to play around with something new. An added layer will make things feel extra cozy!
Sweetest Client, so grateful!
First full day back to work after the obligatory first week of school cold hit our house. How are y’all’s kids? Have you been hit yet since school started? I despise this part of Fall.
On the other hand…it’s 77 degrees in Dallas, so time for a sweatshirt and some soup 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻am I right?!? 🤣
Hope you have a great Tuesday and get to do something that inspires you! 🧡

The push and pull of Modern Traditional style is delicate and tricky and so enamoring when done well!
New project in the works…let the brainstorming begin!
Sound the trumpets! It’s 75 degrees in Dallas this morning and Collins and I are ushering in spring with fervor in our yellow attire!
We’ve been busy getting our house ready to go on the market this week, which has gotten me going quickly on preparing for lots of spring touches.
My favorite ways to add fun notes of spring and Easter without everything feeling too juvenile are…
1. Boxwood wreaths and topiaries or other springy feeling greenery any where I can find a spot for it.
2. Fresh spring flowers on the table and my night stand whenever possible, obvi. Here’s to looking at you
2. Adding pretty little gold leafed eggs to fill my blue china bowls around our home along with faux grass covered bunnies on trays here and there (largehas great ones)!
3. Switching out stacks of design books from dark colored ones to more spring colored options.
4. Swapping out throw pillows for lighter more floral textile options and heavy velvet fur for less heavy throws.
5. Swapping out candles for summery scents!
How do you like to perk up your home for spring time!?
Happy Thursday you little wild Ninnies! I’m running around to a few antique stores in between emails and catching up on client process!
My gallivanting through the antiques reminded me of one of my favorite rooms by !
Let’s dissect some of the ways this room works—
- The corner space is used wisely by adding a sectional, allowing a cozy intimate nook that makes you just want to sit down and read with a fancy cup of tea! Lol.
-It’s the perfect mix of old and new silhouettes from varying time periods. Which allows the space to feel classic while still feeling fresh and relevant.
-The white sofa and black contrasting pillows.
also keep this space crisp and fresh verses too antique feeling.
-The curvy nesting tables make it feel a little feminine, but the angular gridded gallery wall keeps it from feeling too terribly girly.
-The pops of green keep it happy and vibrant verses all neutral.
- The dark flooring keeps the light walls and furniture grounded
-And it perfectly coordinates with the view into the next room (a real bonus designer trick)!
The next time you see a room- and you can’t figure out why you like it—or how to replicate some of the aspects, try studying the individual pieces and why they might play well together.
It’s a fun game creatively and it helps you learn what you love and don’t love!

Is the formal dining room out of style?!?
That’s a question I get asked a lot! The answer is…it totally depends on your household but my personal belief is an absolute no!
I love the concept of having a bit more of a spiffed up place to go for special moments in your life and to place your keep sakes that feel a bit too precious for another area. However, families of 2023 don’t want rooms that are untouchable and off limits for the younger members of their family.
That’s why we use family friendly materials, performance fabrics, wipeable wallpaper, sealed woods, easily cleanable rugs, etc., to make it both durable AND beautifully special!
Do you love the idea of a dining room or would you rather repurpose it?

In preparation for floral Friday, here’s a little dreaminess to start your weekend off right!
I’m getting a lot of questions about color these last few weeks as the gray winter drags on. Wanting more color in our lives is a common response to not getting the doses of color that we need emotionally outside like we do during warmer months!
Que the spring shopping and foraging to spruce up your space and bring in a much needed dose of vitality. I promise it will get you through the last weeks of dreariness in a much more cheerful way!

For Monday I’m Dreaming of all things hollywood regency meets tropical (think stucco and terra cotta roofs with tropical plants) since my getaway to Arizona! Traveling (even in the states) really is the best inspo!
