Ooooh! Some Gaming-Related Content! Yeah, I know, it's been a while.

Shado finally finished up his 2nd playthru of Baldur's Gate 3. Gail sacrificed himself so that Tav and Karlach (and Wyll, too, I suppose) could have a happily ever after slaying devils in Avernus. The Baby Owlbear is all grown up and heading off to live with Shadowheart. This playthru, Tav was a Drow Oath of Vengeance Paladin.

Which means it's time for a new Tav! This one is a Githyanki Sorcerer. We'll see how this goes or whether I get tired of long-resting. Not sure if I'm gonna romance Lae'zel, or Shadowheart yet. I'm gonna let it happen organically.

Look, if you love D&D, and you like Computer Games, and you haven't picked up BG3 yet, you should really do so. It is a Fantastic Game. Available for PC, PS5 and Xbox.

The cold water tap in McKinney right now…

Lys and Shado did a thing today. Sadly Pancake had to stay home. If you haven’t seen this yet, it’s fantastic.

Pancake and Shado went downtown today, spent a few hours visiting some of our favorite places. Said “Hi” to the fine folk at , , , Canine Cookie Company, , , and of course . Ran into a few of you out on the street as well. Now we’re home, and Pancake is sad.

It's been a while since our last post because, y'all, Shado's new job is A Lot. It's great. But it's A Lot. There's A Lot of learning going on. A Lot of Work going on. A Lot of Lot going on.

But first: an update from Pancake (as translated by Dad)

"My life is the worst. Everything sucks. I mean, we're not going to the store anymore at all, and I'm not getting to see all my adoring fans. And just as I kind of got used to being home alone with Mom and Dad all day, Dad started Disappearing for furever at a time. And Mom can't take me for walks because 'something something pull her over.' I dunno. It's a lot of Ape Speech I don't understand. So I don't get but like 1 walk a day. And nobody pets me anymore. Everything Sucks."

Shado is settling in at Petco. He likes it so far. It's challenging in ways he expected, and ways he didn't expect. Lots of growth opportunity. Lys is doing some continuing education courses and still looking for the right job for her.

Went grocery shopping today. Didn't buy a lot. The cart shows it all. A few things in there were not planned, but turned out to be on sale. A significant number of items in that cart are $1.00 each. And still an $88 bill. Only a couple of the items are 'luxury items' that we don't really need.

And Shado's planned lunches for the week. Not adventurous, but inexpensive. Less than $4 per lunch. And easily prepared and consumed in the breakroom at work.

Tonight we break out this bubbly moscato we picked up at . It is fruity and sweet and everything Lys and Shado like in a wine.

This is not a comics update. This is a Lys and Shado update.

Lys is building her endurance back up after the great kidney stone debacle in May, and is working on some of the legal/paperwork portions of closing down the store. She’s also still looking for WFH non-Phone Rep jobs.

Shado is settling in at Petco and trying to figure out how to manage all the extra free-time he has because “Healthy Work/Life Balance.” He’s also learning a metric s**t-ton about his new position. He’s just in week 3 and there is a lot of knowledge transfer going on. So far he is really enjoying the work.

Also: Pancake hates everything about this. Dad -abandons- him every day, and every day he’s worried Shado is never coming home again.

Last week's was a little heavy. This one is a little venn.

Since Lys and Shado are currently kind of living this meme, it seems appropriate to remind you all that it’s never too late. Be the you that you want to be.

Way back in April, when we announced the store was closing, a whole lot of you had the question "What's Next?"

Well, part of "What's Next" was a well deserved 'vacation' (well, stay-cation, but still).

Another part of "What's Next" was putting in lots of job applications.

The final part of "What's Next" is some kind of gainful employment.

Today, Shado started his new life as an Operations Manager at a national big-box Pet Store (But not the Smart one).

So if you need cool stuff for your pets, and stop in to the shop in the Costco Shopping Center, you might run into you favorite Comic Guru.

We've fallen off a little bit. I won't say we're 'back' to it, yet, but it is Monday, and this is a meme!

On one hand, we hate that we had to close the store.

But on the other hand, we're not currently crying over how all this rain has killed our sales for the week. So there's that.

Hope y'all are safely making it thru all this Skywater.

Y'all all know Pancake. Today, I want to introduce his older brother, Gwydion.

Gwydion is an annoying little defective boy cat (as his Sister refers to him). He's about 8 years old.

This morning, when I got up, he was nowhere to be found. Not a big deal, sometimes he likes to hide. But a couple of hourse into the morning, I still hadn't seen hide-nor-hair of him, and he didn't show up when I filled the breakfast bowls. Very unlike him.

Gwydion is also an escape artist.

So I took to the outside world and went on a hunt for him. Couldn't find him. He wasn't in the back yard, he wasn't in the front yard, he wasn't hiding in the shrubbery.

Come back and check the entire house for him again. Shake the Treat Bag loudly. Nothing.

Post on a few of the local "Lost Animal" Facebook groups.

Go back outside and start a search of the neighborhood.

After 20 minutes, I hear a plaintive, pleading, and familiar "Mew!". I follow the sound for a couple more minutes, and find this little s**t hunkered down and sheltering from the night's storms under a piece of corrogated tin in the neighbor's yard. He'd gotten under it, but couldn't get himself back out. So I rescued his dirty ass and brought him inside and love him and squeezed him and chastised him for the heart attack he'd given me.

And then proceeded to give him an actual water-immersion bath. Which he absolutely hates. But after being out all night and hunkered in the dirt, he absolutely needed.

So anyway, he's now safe back at home, and giving me the cold shoulder, despite my rescuing him, because I -dared- to give him a bath.

So that was my day! How was yours?
