We will be closed this week, starting Monday the 21st and will Reopen the following Monday the 28th. We have 2 large events that will take up all of our refrigeration space so unfortunately we won't be able to use our display case for goodies for the week. Hoping to resolve this issue soon by installing a second fridge and adding an ice machine!!

Last staff post for the week. Most of you know me but I will introduce myself again. My name is Penny Crouch and I'm the owner of Oh Sugar. I am married to Ryan Crouch and we have 3 beautiful children Sawyer age 6 and Savannah and Piper age 4! My hobbies include chasing my children all over creation, baking of course, reading, spending time with family and great friends. My passion for baking came from my Nana and opening my own bakery was something I always wanted to do but never thought I would ever get to. Through the support of my family, I was able to make my dream a reality. This past year has been one of the toughest and most rewarding years of my life. Watching something that you put so much time and effort into become a success is one of the most awesome experiences ever! Without my amazing customers it would have never been such a success. Without my family supporting me, my parents spending countless hours helping in the bakery in the beginning, my Nana that continues to come in every day, my wonderful husband that has become Mr. Mom watching kids and running them every where, my grandma and in laws spending countless hours babysitting, none of this would be possible. Owning a small business is no easy task and when you have a village supporting you it makes it so much easier! Thank you everyone for everything you have contributed in the past year to my small business. Hopefully we will continue to serve you your favorite baked goods for many many more years to come!

Next up is the one that has been with me at the store since day 1, my Nana Pat. She comes in first thing in the mornings to get us off to a good start before going to her job. She helps with dishes, bakes cookies, and does whatever else needs to be done. We have the cleanest dish rags this side of the Mississippi because of her! She was one of my biggest cheerleaders back when Oh Sugar was just a thought. Fun fact...several of the recipes to know and love come from this amazing woman right here! She loves to cook and spend time with family. Thank you Nana for sticking it out with me this past year. I'm so grateful for you! Stop in and say Hi to Patsy Jones!

Next is Skylar Cantrell. Skylar you probably won't see at the bakery because she comes in after hours to give you guys all those yummy cheesecakes. When I wanted to add cheesecakes to our menu I knew that I couldn't keep up with the demand of custom cakes and add another bakery item. So Skylar swooped in and offered to come in after her day job to make delicious cheesecakes for us. Skylar enjoys swimming, baking, kayaking, and being outside. She also does some crafting and woodworking, and has started farming and raising chickens. Her favorite dessert is of course cheesecake! Stop in this week and try her delicious cheesecake creations!

Next up is Lauren Childers. Lauren started with us this summer after school let out. She is a kindergarten teacher at hickory creek and loves baking in her free time so she helps out some afternoons, school breaks and Saturdays. Her hobbies are spending time with family and her boyfriend, loves the fair and is obsessed with all things disney, a fan of old country music and loves cows! She says the fair, disney and the bakery are her happy places. Her favorite desserts are banana pudding, strawberry buttercream, and blueberry lemon cupcakes. Stop in this week and say Hi to Lauren!

Next up is Gracie Crouch ! She is starting Motlow this fall. She has been with us several months now and has actually picked up decorating really quickly! She is the one behind most of the Facebook post. She is way more tech savvy and creative when it comes to things like that than I am! When she isn't at the bakery she loves refurbishing furniture, spending time with family, shopping, and traveling on the weekends with her fiance. (She is newly engaged!) Her favorite desserts are chocolate chip cookies, cotton candy macarons and cookie cake! Fun fact..notice the last name she is family! So glad to have her with us at Oh Sugar, she has picked up so many skills in a short time and I'm so excited to see what else she does with her talent! Stop in this week and say Hi to Gracie!

Since we are celebrating our 1st birthday this week I want to take a minute to introduce and recognize the wonderful smiling faces you see when you come into Oh Sugar! 1st up is Mea Starkey, she has been with me since the beginning. She started shortly after I opened and has been a huge asset in day to day operations since. She currently attends Motlow and enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her boyfriend. Some of her hobbies are shopping, working out, going out to eat and learning new things. When she started here she warned me that she couldn't bake. I told her that I could teach a monkey to bake and that we got this. Now she can step into the kitchen and make whatever she needs to! I have enjoyed watching her learn new skills in the kitchen! Her favorite desserts include white chocolate raspberry cupcakes, chocolate chip cookies, and oreos balls. Stop by this week and say Hi to Mea!
