Joining us in store for our business spotlight of the month is Four Seasons Realtors owned by Mr. John Holthus. Mr. Holthus started in the real-estate business in February 2005 and this was his third career. He had his first taste of the real estate business starting in 1976 when he partnered with his brother and sister, buying and selling houses. From 1975-1988 Mr. Holthus was in the banking field, then from 1999-2004 owned and operated McPherson Business Machines. Four Seasons Realtors is your go to for all kinds of property including residential, commercial, and agricultural properties. Mr. Holthus has always focused on having a teamwork atmosphere, no matter what the business focus. Family is an integral part of this business whether it's your family or his. Business Spotlight Interview

June 2024
Today we celebrate La Belle Boutique into our store to complete our business spotlight for the month of June. La Belle Boutique has been in business for the last two and half to three years. Mrs. Lia Cobb, the store owner, reported that getting started after the COVID shutdowns has been hard, but business has been good. “I’ve always wanted to do something in fashion since I was four years old. I started while mom was sewing skirts for me, I was creating Barbie clothes.” The biggest success for La Belle Boutique is that I am living my dream, doing what I love and helping people look their best. The biggest challenge has been getting the business going while the rest of the world had all but stopped shopping local. My daughter is what keeps me going and keeps my feet running to work every day. If you have not been in the store before, La Belle Boutique’s clothing is unique to this area and comes from exotic places like Turkey with a flair for European style. When not at work, Lia loves to read with her two favorite authors being Agatha Christie and Jack London. If you are wanting to shop, they are located at 123 North Main Street, McPherson, KS 67460. Hours of operation: Monday-Saturday 10:00 am-5:30 pm.

Harmony Cleaning Service, LLC is our business spotlight for the month of May. This year, Kenny Harmony of Harmony Cleaning Service, LLC. is celebrating 60 years of being in business in the Hutchinson and McPherson, Kansas areas. The business was started by Kenny’s Dad. Mr. Harmony started cleaning with his dad in the late 60’s and spending his money with his friends on fun activities they liked to do. When the business first opened, “We cleaned everything, from general cleaning of businesses. If it can be cleaned, we have cleaned it!” Mr. Harmony’s goal is to make people happy. The biggest challenges are working in situations that are sometimes a person’s worst nightmare, such as after a fire. “We are a family-owned business and I am the only one left.” In the past couple of years, Mr. Harmony has experienced some health troubles, causing him to now focus on cleaning windows and helps approximately 80 business/households with windows, shine. He enjoys spending time with his 6 grandchildren, his kids, metal detecting and going to car shows with his ’68 Lincoln Continental or his ‘86 Chevy short bed pickup. Harmony Cleaning Services, LLC started with USCellular when he had to carry a bag phone, then one that looked like a walkie-talkie and keeping connected is the mainstay of the business!

It is Teacher Appreciation week! We want to thank all of our local teachers for everything they do for our students. To the teachers who make sure their students not only learn but feel loved and safe every day. To the teachers who take personal time out of their day to attend their students' after school activities. To the teachers who use their own paychecks to buy school supplies. Our April Business Spotlight goes to Ranchland Tree Service. They have been “going strong for nearly three years.” Laramie Siebert, Rachel Siebert and family are the owner operators. When Laramie was a child, his dad was in the same business and grew up as a “cowboy.” He treasured the path his dad created so is now walking in the same shoes. He cherishes the flexibility that owning your own business affords, so bought his own equipment and forged ahead with his dreams. Those dreams included seeing the nightmare that invasive trees can cause for farms and pasture land in the cattle industry. Too many trees can kill good ground, which he fought on his own land. He thought to himself, "If I am struggling, I know others are too," and that was all written in the ledger books at the beginning of Ranchland Tree Service, LLC. Ranchland Tree Service, LLC. has reached as far as Olathe where they cleared nearly 40 acres, and as close to home as his neighbors with just an acre or two. Mr. Siebert works at a day job three days a week and puts in those grueling hours behind the tools to clear those trees for his customers. The biggest challenge to the job is organization and juggling all the schedules while wearing all the hats: CEO, employee, husband, and dad. The things that keep him going are being able to provide for their family, flexibility to spend time with his children and pass the skills on. Ranchland Tree Service, LLC. is a veteran owned business proudly serving in the central Kansas area and expanding.
