Please welcome to the HSH team, Anastasia! Anastasia is taking on the role of Social Media Specialist for Home Sweet Hope!

You may recognize her from one of our room makeovers when her adopted daughter Cam received a room from us! Anastasia has an M.A. in Intregated Marketing. The combination of her heart for the foster care community as well as her educational background makes her an answer to our prayers! Like us, she truly wants to use her skills and talents to serve others and glorify God.

We are so happy to have Anastasia working with us, and we are excited to see her creative talents flourish within our organization.

Yesterday we shared pics of our first dorm room makeovers. Today the video from our partners The Nowiamknown Foundation has launched on YouTube. You can see some behind the scenes footage of our journey with Miss Keiniyah as we help her pick out items for her space, so we can make it perfect for her! At the beginning of the year, we wrote out a strategic plan. It was our hopes and dreams to be able to set up dorm room spaces for aged out foster youth who were headed off to college dorm life. That dream came true this fall when we were able to set up TWO youth in their college spaces! Since these were our first ones, we learned a lot and we are excited to continue this program and serve more youth in the future.

Thank you to everyone who sponsored the items the kids chose for their room. They are both very happy with how their spaces turned out!

Attention all who attended Seven Homes, Inc. Life Raft Event earlier this month. You have until September 1 to get your applications in to receive a free room makeover for your child in foster care or your adopted child. After Sept. 1 we will start the interview process from applications chosen.

This Sunday, take a few moments and recognize that all of God's promises are fulfilled in Jesus. God is faithful.

Last week, we got to celebrate not one, but two!! Our hearts are filled with joy over the announcements on the adoption of Adrianna and the 5th addition to the Henderson(Megan)family through guardianship.

Sadley, less than 3% of former foster youth achieve this accomplishment. As heartbreaking as that is, these are the stories where greatness is achieved! The young people who have fought, persevered, and followed their dreams...these two are headed for greatness!!

Home Sweet Hope in partnership with the Now I Am Known Foundation has awarded three teens from the Teaming with Teens Conference with free custom room makeovers!

Two of the teens will have their spaces completely outfitted for their college dorm rooms and another teen will have the room in their home custom decorated for their needs and personality. By gifting custom designed rooms to teens, we are not only providing tangible items, but we are providing them with valuable resources that provide dignity and confidence, and empowers them to succeed in life and at school.

Thank you to all who applied for rooms. Home Sweet Hope will keep your names in their database to be considered for future projects.

As many students everywhere are embarking on their next stage in life by graduating. It is not lost on us that with the amount of adversities youth in foster care face, the cards are stacked against them, and many will not meet this monumental milestone.

According to The National Foster Youth Institute, only about half of youth raised in foster care graduate high school. Less than 5% graduate from a four-year college and 2-6% complete a degree from a two year college.

We found our unicorns! These two remarkable students who have experienced foster care beat the odds and will be heading to college this fall and staying in the dorms!

Home Sweet Hope will be coming along side of them to purchase items for their space and make it as fabulous as they are! Helping teens outfit their dorm rooms is a program we have had on our radar for some time, and we are very excited to help these two individuals with that task! We can't wait to help them create a space perfect for them and more amazing than they could have imagined!
