U.S. Domestic Honey Production
Over the last 30 years, U.S. honey production has declined by around 1.4 percent per year while honey imports have grown by 7.6 percent per year, filling the domestic supply deficit. Imports have exceeded domestic honey production since 2005 and accounted for 74 percent of total U.S. honey supplies in 2021. The top three foreign suppliers—India, Vietnam, and Argentina—supply more than 71 percent of imported honey.

When two 5 year olds decided they wanted to learn about beekeeping, we where happy to oblige. After a couple hours exploring the farm, assisting in a hive inspection, and tasting some honey, they proudly explained they wanted to become beekeepers.
Introducing our newest addition to the farm: Bear! Along with big brother Doc, they'll do what farm dogs do best, supervise. 😊

We pulled out the first harvest of these beautiful Easter Egg radishes today! This photo was taken minutes before chopping up a bunch to have in a salad. We even washed up the greens for adding to salads and smoothies this week. If you need some, let us know.

Spring has things at the farm looking peachy. The blackberries are starting to bloom, corn and beans are sprouting, and the peaches are growing!

It's a beautiful 76 degrees and partly cloudy. Our chickens are taking some time to dust bath in our raised garden beds after they helped us clear weeds and fertilize.
We're getting ready for planting season and this year we're rooting some tree collards. These purple tree collards are a perennial vegetable that can grow up to 8ft tall!

They've taken some time, but our tomatillos are starting to ripen!!! These are the first five we picked just minutes ago.
After losing our first few to rabbits, we finally picked our first little cantaloupe tonight!

It's potato harvesting day! We're pulling up five varieties that make up a timely mix of red, white, and blue.
Every day we find another hidden gem in the garden. These baby Crimson Sweet watermelons popped up in the middle of our cantaloupe patch.
Two months later and those little pepper plants are producing like crazy! These Big Jim peppers are spicy and get to be 8-12" long. They'll ripen to red and are great for fire-roasting and rellenos.
Ripening blackberries are a thing of beauty!
