THURSDAY NIGHT ROUNDUP Summer League. I'll be running this league if anyone is interested. If you're looking to jump on a team, come to the meeting to see if anyone is looking to fill or put together a team.

Good afternoon FNM. As most of you know, I’m in Vegas attending the annual USBC convention and won’t be back in time for league this Friday. I got some clarification on the tie breaking rule for our roll off. The only teams required to bowl a 1-game roll off Friday night are any that tie for 8th place (getting into the roll off). Any teams that tie for places 1-7, position is determined by the team’s total pins plus handicap. Teams that tie for 8th place should be prepared to bowl a tie breaking 4th game on Friday night to see who goes into the roll off the following week in the 8th position.

Good morning FNM! I won't be there next Friday and League President, Michelle Ross, will be running the show! As you know, next week is position round. A few things to note:

No new subs! If you use a sub, the sub must have an average within 10 pins of the bowler they're subbing for.

Check the standings that I hand out and be sure your average/handicap matches what's on the score sheet. The standings I hand out takes precedence and you'll need to change the score sheet to match what is on the standings. This is important in case any of the top 8 teams tie.

Any team that ties for any of the top 8 roll-off positions must bowl a 4th game - the tie breaker to determine position in the roll-off. If your team leaves or chooses not to bowl the 4th game, this will be considered a forfeit and the other team wins the tie breaker. Be sure to record the scores. USBC rules require any games bowled in a tie-breaking situation must be included when reporting the final season's averages.

Other teams lower on the standings will not need a tie breaker if there are ties. If you do tie, you'll share the payout position (positions added together and split evenly between the teams that tied).

REMINDER: All bowlers should be paid in full by next Friday (4/12). Team Captains are responsible to make sure their team is paid.

In case anyone is interested in attending, all GRUSBC certified bowlers can attend the GRUSBC Open Meeting being held at 10:00am at the VFW in Mechanicsville on April 13th. I'm up for reelection this year as a Director and would like your votes if you're able to attend. Additionally, I've added my name to the ballots to attend the national USBC convention in Las Vegas in April 2025 and to attend the VA State USBC Fall Jamboree in September 2024 - again, would love the votes if you can attend. 👍
