Good morning! It's been a long while since we've done a monthly update!

It's been a whirlwind of a summer!

We've had some ups and downs, as do all people, but we are on an upward trend. We've had some amazing volunteers step up to fill needs, we have a wonderful board, and things are just moving forward beautifully.

We have updated or Amazon list and prioritized our needs.

We are again out of coffee! If anyone has extra, or is heading to the store, we would appreciate it!

Donations needed! Taylor County Supportive Housing is putting on a garage sale, all proceeds to benefit the Taylor House!

Client confidentiality is important, so when they want to be involved- this is how it works!!!

Hi! We have a client that needs a ride to church! Does anyone go to the second service (10:45 service) at First Baptist Medford, that is able, and willing to pick up our client?

We need a new microwave! Ours is pooping out on us, it will heat one persons thing and then be out of commission for 10-15 minutes.

If you have a spare, or are upgrading- or see one at a yard sale or thrift shop- please keep us in mind!

Meet Britney, our Client Advocate! She is a busy mom of 3 amazing kiddos. Her passion is helping people. Her entire life has been focused on helping others. From the Medical field, to the Army, back to the medical field and now here- she lives to serve.

She exhibits her passion in the love she has for her kids, and in the care she provides for our clients. If you need someone on your side, she's the go getter you want. She won't do their work for them, but she will pull just as hard to help them stabilize and take care of themselves.

We have a need for small personal/portable fans, small desk/floor lamps, and alarm clock and or radio/cd players.

If you have extra, or see one at a yard sale for cheap, keep us in mind!

Our organization is truly blessed. The Keenager group with the Medford United Methodist Church recently held a rummage sale and it was decided that a portion of their proceeds would be graced upon the Taylor House.

With warmed hearts, our organization, residents, and community thank you for your contribution and your strive to assist.

Our needs have been met again! We have the absolute BEST COMMUNITY ever. We had a need for rice and coffee as these are 2 things that aren't available to us on our monthly food order and we have received an abundance of rice! We got some coffee aswell, but if you have extra, we will gladly put it to good use! 🫘 ☕️

Rice has been taken off our wish list for now, but check in often as we update weekly, if not daily depending on the needs of the house! 👇🏻

These funds go to specific needs that we have in order to continue to serve our homeless community, and keep The Taylor House Doors open to those in need.

In February 2024, my boyfriend kicked both my daughter and I out of his house with a 3 day warning. I called around and Taylor House was able to take both my daughter and I in. While at the Taylor House, they had clear expectations for household chores, finding a job (which we both were working), saving a percentage of our income to build our security deposit. We both worked hard, and we signed a lease on May 1st! We continue to use the budgeting skills that we learned through our time at the Taylor House, and are doing okay. Thank you Taylor House for being there and giving us the resources and help you gave us!! Shout out to both Hallie and Britney for their support and encouragement through the process!

Omg!!!!! Thanks to In the Kitchen with Pride, we have FRESH sourdough bread AND their fantastic cinnamon rolls!!!!

We are so blessed by our community! We are amazed how we have had so many people step up and lock arms with us to help fight homelessness!

Do you love gardening? Have some spare time on your hands? Like helping the community?

We, here at The Taylor House, have a once beautiful flower garden/bed that, through the years has slipped into disarray.

We have well developed Hostas, Lily of the Valley and Peonies, annnnnddddd...... LOTS OF WEEDS.

We would love help lifting this amazing program up and getting its' "curb appeal" improved!

Some annual flowers or perennials to be donated would also spice up the beds.

This would be great for high schoolers who need volunteer hours to graduate, and just to teach our kiddos to give back.

Oh! And Kleenex! We have an abundance of 🧻 tp, but nothing to aid with this allergy season!

OTC allergy meds would be welcome also, just the generics of loratidine, or ceterizine! Nothing fancy

We are so thankful to the WEDA grant for blessing us with new windows, doors, new HVAC systems, and a back patio fence!

Teamwork makes the dream work and together we make it happen!

We are so very blessed to once again receive a donation from United Way of Taylor County . They have supported the homeless shelter since before we opened our doors and we are so thankful.

We are proud to introduce our new Director at the Taylor House. Hallie is a Medford native who graduated from UW-Oshkosh with a degree in Human Services Leadership. After graduating college, Hallie decided to move back to Medford to serve the community. She is passionate about helping others to succeed and is driven to make a difference in any way possible. In her free time, Hallie enjoys reading, spending time with her family, and cooking. Hallie and her fiancé, Stephen, are getting married in early summer and plan to stay in the community that Hallie has always called home.
