**Basic Carbine 2 Class: Covering Speed, Accuracy, and Recoil Management**

This class is designed to help shooters enhance their speed, accuracy, and recoil management with the carbine platform. Whether you’re new to carbines or looking to refine your skills, this course focuses on building solid fundamentals and applying them under dynamic conditions. The day will cover drills and techniques that improve target transitions, quick follow-up shots, and managing recoil for optimal control and precision.

PRESS RELEASE - Central Point Police Department Responds to Firearm Incident at Crater High School

INCIDENT LOCATION: Crater High School, Central Point, OR

Central Point, OR – On the morning of September 17, 2024, an anonymous tip was received by Crater High School staff regarding a student who was allegedly in possession of a firearm on the school campus. Immediate action was taken by school security personnel and Central Point School Resource Officers to locate the student, a 16-year-old, and investigate the situation.

The student was quickly identified and found to have a small-caliber firearm in their possession. Central Point Police conducted a thorough investigation with the assistance of the Jackson County Threat Assessment Team. It is important to note that at no point were any direct threats made toward the school, students, or staff. However, out of an abundance of caution, appropriate safety measures were implemented to ensure the well-being of everyone on campus.

The situation was resolved peacefully, and there were no injuries or further incidents. The student involved has been lodged at the Jackson County Juvenile Detention Facility.

Both the Central Point Police Department and School District 6 would like to assure the community that there is no ongoing threat related to this incident. We extend our gratitude to the school staff, security personnel, and law enforcement officers for their quick and professional response in handling the situation.

We remain committed to the safety of our schools and will continue to work closely with Crater High School and other district schools to ensure a safe environment for all students and staff.

Basic Pistol is our course of the basics for handgun. This teaches you the knowledge of firearm safe handling skills and the basic understandings of operating your handgun and pushes you to our Basic Pistol 2. This course is for developing your foundation for shooting and becoming a strong shooter. We are going to learn basic shooting skills and move along onto working manipulations and reloading and getting guns back up on targets. NEED Holsters: outside the waistband holsters or inside the waistband holsters are welcome. Shooters will know at the end of this course proper stance, grip, recoil management, sights and zeroed optics with red dots and know how to identity and fix a malfunction. Photo credit .something

Interested in getting into long range precision but not sure where to start, we are putting on a class with one of our cadre on Saturday August 18 2024

This class will cover entry level fundaments and topics for people who want to learn how to engage targets at longer distances.

Topics covered include..
•Fundamentals of marksmanship rifle adjustment to the shooter.
•Optics mounting
•Leveling, properly torquing scope and rifle minute of angle vs. mils.
•wind reading
•shot correction
•zeroing
•gathering data and building DOPE charts
•engaging steel out to 600yds

Advanced/Basic Pistol August 3rd Saturday. This class is perfect for our beginner or novice handgun user starting out with some handgun experience and or for those who want to get back to the basics to work into our advance handgun and intermediate courses. At MSD we will take you through the requirements to elevate your foundation to build from little experience to an understanding or “competency” with situations and opportunities to be comfortable while shooting drills and getting trigger time that will showcase your abilities learned in our class that will benefit you at other training courses and off the range to continue your learning with dry firings.

WHAT TO BRING:
Handgun (9mm or bigger. There will be no 22 cal or .380 allowed)
Baseball cap or hat with brim (keeps shell casing out of your shirt)
Proper shirt to prevent shell casings landing in shirts
Eye protection - Eye protection can be purchased from us $2.00
Ear protection - You can purchase ear buds protection from us $1.00
Duty style pants or range pants: 511’s, BDU’s, Jeans accepted
Boots or tennis shoes no open-toed shoes
Need 2-3 magazines or more if possible
250-350 rounds of Ammo for the firearm you are shooting (You are responsible for purchasing ammo)
Lunch/Snacks
