In order to shoot, move, and communicate well, you have to be able to communicate.

Ranger communicators are a cut above in all aspects. Ranger Signal Support Specialists (MOS 25U) work with battlefield signal support systems and satellite communication devices. They build and execute the infrastructure that enables Rangers to communicate around the world and orchestrate fire and maneuver on the Ranger objective. In addition, they train and deploy side-by-side with rifle platoons and companies as radio telephone operators and technology experts.

In addition to schools like Ranger School, Jumpmaster, and Pathfinder, Ranger communicators can earn several industry-recognized certifications such as +, , and many more. Ranger communicators often work closely with industry leaders to field and implement cutting-edge communications technology.

These are some of the thoughts that process through my mind when I think about this photo.

Still my favorite one, and I’ll never get tired of talking about it.

The Army has given me the opportunity of a lifetime.



What really put an exclamation point on my career is when I started thinking, “How can I fit the Army into my life” versus “How can I fit my life into the Army.”

I stopped lying to myself about my dreams and aspirations - they weren’t aligned.

I wasn’t born to be an IT specialist, or Joint Nodal Network System Operator-Maintainer.

I’m a photographer…and while that career might come under different titles and positions, my mentality remains the same. The way I process tasks is the same. Cause and effect, risk, courses of action, follow through - still the same.

I might not be “at the breach” anymore, but I’m still at the front line of Army history ))
