Education
Welcome to Mrs. Dix's First Grade Classroom Page! I’m excited to share pictures and videos of our daily happenings, along with helpful information & school reminders. Please 'like' or 'follow' in our years journey!
A bit about myself: I am entering my 10th year at Medford Area Elementary School - 3 years as a Special Education Paraprofessional, 1 year as a Special Education Teacher and 6 years as a First Grade Teacher. I was born and raised in Medford on a dairy farm with three siblings. I received a Bachelors degree at Western Governor University, where I graduated with a degree in Interdisiplinary Studies. In 2019 I graduated with a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
I am blessed to be raising my own family in Medford - Lexi (12), Brynn, (10) and Ryot (6). Together as a family we love to hike, kayak, swim, bike, read and travel. I personally love to paint, coach basketball and I enjoy trying new adventures, like skydiving and rock climbing.
I am thrilled to be a part of your child's education and look forward to getting to know you and your family this school year!

As the school year comes to an end, I'm proud to announce that I too will be graduating from First Grade! Starting 2023-2024 I will be the MAES Special Education & Mental Health Educator. To all my families, current & past - thank you for allowing me to be your child's teacher. I have loved watching my students grow socially, emotionally, physically, academically & mentally these past six years! Having my prior students visit me has always been one of my daily highlights. I look forward to this come fall, in a brand new room & hallway of course! I appreciate all of the love and support I've received in First and know that my passion as an educator is continuously fueled by my students & families!
