Another busy week at Down on the Farm. We arrived Monday morning to an overachiever chick who hatched on Sunday night (3 days early). We learned about fibers produced by farms and got to feel wool and fleece from sheep, alpaca, and llama. We also got to see what cotton looks as a plant. We tasted the refrigerator pickles we made last week and made 3D barns and tractors. Today, we had ice cream sundaes and cuddled with our chicks. Unfortunately, due to the storms and power outages right before hatching time, we did not have as good of a hatch rate for our last batch of chicks. 10 out 16 chicks hatched.
