May is Mental Health Awareness Month 💚
At BPTW, we understand that physical health and mental health go hand in hand. This connection is undeniable, but also complex.
When our patients come in for physical therapy, we understand the impact this also has on their mental health. Whether the patient is working to regain independence, learning new strategies to navigate daily life, or returning to the sport that is their identity, we take this factor into consideration. Having these tough conversations with patients about how they are feeling during these times are extremely important and lead to better outcomes!
This is also why we promote movement (in any form!) for all patients! Did you know (some of the many!) benefits of physical activity include:
—The release of vital chemicals like endorphins and serotonin- results in elevated mood
-reduces anxiety
-improves memory
-improves sleep
How does movement/ exercise help you? Comment & let us know 💚
Our PT/AT Jake threw the opening pull at health & safety night … then got right back to work 💪🏼

BOSTON CONCUSSION CLINIC
BPTW is thrilled to offer baseline concussion testing with direct access to post concussion care through BOSTON CONCUSSION CLINIC!
After sustaining a concussion, the time between injury & presentation to a concussion specialist for treatment is critical. Initiating treatment within 72 hours of a concussion has been found to be the best prognostic indicator for recovery. Having a baseline test assists with making appropriate treatment and return to sport decisions.
If you are interested in baseline testing or are seeking post concussion care, call us today or email Danielle at [email protected]
Our PT Chris is running Boston 2024!
This year marks two years since Chris was diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis following a severe autoimmune attack in the summer of 2021. At this time, Chris is extremely fortunate to have been in symptomatic remission since that fall, after finding a medication that works for him! Because of this, Chris has been able to get my life back. A big part of Chris’ world is running, and he has been able to excel at running with minimal residual issues.
Last year, Chris was able to qualify for the privilege of runnning the upcoming 2024 Boston Marathon. This will be his second Boston Marathon. Once again, Chris will be raising money for the rheumatology fund at Brigham & Women’s as a member of the Stepping Strong Marathon Team.
We can’t wait to watch Chris crush Boston 2024!
The crew at BPTW would like to wish all of our athletes a successful (& safe!) spring season!
We’re excited to follow all of your success! 💪🏼
