“Well I thought I would give an update on my year as a truck driver. Yes I can’t believe it’s been a full year already. Some told me I was stupid. Some thought I was stupid but didn’t actually say it. Few were supportive.

126,000 safe miles with Lucy my English Bulldog, all states travelled except: California, State of Washington, Oregon, Arizona, Florida and Nevada. Saw many beautiful sites. Big Horn Sheep, Llamas, Deer, Bison, Horses, Cattle, Goats and list goes on. I look at it as I was at the zoo at times and didn’t have to pay admission. Met some great people and some questionable ones as well. Saw mansions to trailers that people call home. Mountains, desert and coastal landscapes. The Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico. Horrific truck and auto accidents on a few occasions and the worst experiences of my journey. Missing out on a some family events was tough as well. Being on the road over Christmas was difficult.

What’s next. Maybe become a lawyer or doctor. Just kidding. Dreaming of owning my own truck and being my own boss? Possibly.

Overall I am proud of my first year as a truck driver. I surpassed my goal of 100,000 miles in my first year. Being able to see this beautiful country that God created is truly a blessing. Thank you to all that have been supportive throughout this year. Thank you to J. Bauer Trucking for giving me the opportunity to train me and drive for them.”
