Tufts China Care's LUX Charity Fashion Show

Dear Tufts Community,

For the past 10 years, Tufts China Care’s LUX Charity Fashion Show has been one of China Care’s biggest fundraising events. With the generous support of the Tufts and greater Boston communities, we have raised thousands of dollars for the OneSky Foundation and have changed the lives of many children in the Chinese foster care system. With the funds provided by LUX, we have funded critical surgeries and placed children into permanent and loving foster families.

After much discussion among our club members and members of the Tufts community, Tufts China Care has decided that for the 2017-2018 academic year, we will not be hosting our annual LUX Charity Fashion Show. We have decided to step back this year and refocus our energies into expanding educational awareness of our mission to the Tufts community and the Boston community at large. This is not to say that LUX is disappearing for good. However, for this year, this is the right decision and is the best way for us to support our group members, and our cause.

We are proud of the members of China Care and grateful to the past models and crew members of LUX, to our generous sponsors for their contributions, and to the Tufts community that made up our audience for the past ten years. You have all helped contribute to the success of the show, and without your continued enthusiasm and support, we never would have made it through our ten incredible and humbling years of LUX.
