I do love a good Aurora

There is an irony, because I have a terrible phobia of bee's, yet if they have plenty of flowers to keep them busy and not bother me, I do enjoy taking photos of them. This guy came out very clear.

This was a fun one. Roll the dice with the Joker. Revere, MA 2024 Sandcastles. Technically the Sand Sculpting Festival, but I'm only there at sunrise or midnight because of parking and people

This artist needed to switch plans, it would have been sad, but I kind of wish I saw the extended arm fall. He did a great job switching it up and having a plan b. This guy was going by a statue, I wonder if he sculpted the statue too? Or 3D printed it? Or just got it at a thrift store and liked it.... Hmmm, we may never know.

Continuing on with some of the Sand Sculptures from Revere, MA the past week or so. I know they all did better than I would do.

Severe Revere with another sandcastle for 2024.

This was the winner this year. Even on day 1 he was blowing me away with the intricate lattice structure of the chameleon. The details on the flower and tail on both sides definitely deserved the win for this year.

One of the sand sculptures from last week. In progress and the finished product. I thought this was clever, he's a cat burglar, stealing cats, and the dog has him lit up in the flashlight. And not every one does things on the back, but this guy did.

When the aurora was hitting us a couple of weeks ago I took this and thought it would be a great post in honor of Memorial Day weekend.

This is a photo of Aurora from Iceland and it might be my favorite of my photos. I even caught a meteor streaking through the sky. This is a single exposure from Höfn Iceland.

This is a spot that always draws my eye. Its funny because when we're walking to different spots in this area full of amazing scenery I always stop and enjoy this particular view. while the folks I'm with continue on, like its a flyover state. Then one day my friend Jim tells me that although this spot is just a walking path now, at one point it was pure wilderness and this specific view was enjoyed by Henry David Thoreau and artist Fitz Henry Lane. I wonder if they ever imagined seeing this dark corner lit up like this.

Gloucester MA Aurora from tonight. It was a magical night out by the ocean under dancing lights.

The hard part was stacking up the rocks in the pitch dark of night. Then being patent to let the camera do its thing for 45 min... Happy Friday

This lovely photo of Hammond Castle with dual Christmas Trees in the courtyard and the upper window to one of the bedrooms is to be featured in Yankee Magazine.
