Let’s talk about grief during the holidays❤️🩹💔Holidays without my son Edmond are so difficult. I do believe he is with me-all the time. We were very very close. Even still, there’s nothing like being able to see and hold your loved ones-especially around the holidays.
I would encourage anyone who is missing someone special during the holidays (or any time), to take some time to feel and remember. It hurts for sure. But being able to look back on fond memories with a smile and a laugh and maybe get a much needed cry out, can also be heartwarming and healing. Sending love and peace to you all.💙

Thanksgiving can be difficult for those of us on a weight loss journey, but it doesn’t have to be!🦃
Here are 3️⃣ tips to keep in mind on Thanksgiving Day:
1️⃣ Eat a light breakfast!🍳We all want to save all the space in our stomach for what delicious dinner awaits-but don’t go into thanksgiving dinner feeling so ravenous that you over-indulge. Eat something with protein and fiber before you arrive, and you’re less likely to over-eat.👍🏼
2️⃣ Skip the seconds.🍽 Chances are, you’re already full from the first round. If that’s the case, then savor your food and save some for the next day. Thanksgiving leftovers practically taste better the next day anyway!
3️⃣ Be realistic. While it’s fine to have weight loss goals, it may be more realistic to aim for maintenance during the holiday season, than weight loss. Keep doing what you’re doing with staying active and be mindful of what you eat. Give yourself permission to enjoy the holidays and the treats that come with it!♥️

Don’t go ‘nuts’ this Halloween! Instead, limit yourself to one mini a day! It won’t ruin your progress and you’ll still be able to enjoy your favorite candy. Moderation is truly key.🔑

I turned to exercise as an outlet after losing my son Edmond in a tragic accident and it was a huge part of my journey towards healing from things I had been struggling with for so long.
After beginning my own health journey, I realized I wanted to make a career change and began my own personal training business- and that’s how Stand Strong began!

Are you exercising, but still not reaching your goals?🤔 It may be time to take a deeper look into what’s on your plate!🍽
Here are 3 tips to keep in mind for healthy eating:
1️⃣ Cook in liquids (such as stock, wine, lemon juice, fruit juice, vinegar or water) instead of oil.
If you must use oil, make sure you measure and choose one that’s meant for high heat!🔥(avocado, sesame, olive)
2️⃣ Spice it up!🌶 Fresh herbs and spices can be used to add delicious flavors instead of using salt or oil.
3️⃣ Take time out to enjoy eating, away from screens and other distractions.⏲You are less likely to overeat if you are eating mindfully!😊
Remember- small, CONSISTENT changes can have a big impact! Making small, gradual changes to your diet (rather than restrictive eating or crash diets) will help you establish healthy eating habits for life!💙

Let’s talk meditation! 💚
There is no wrong way to meditate. You can meditate for 5 mins or 30 mins. It could be listening to soothing music or a podcast while focusing on your breathing. Maybe it’s taking a walk on your favorite trail or sitting on the beach, while staying free from distractions.
Myself personally, I do a little bit of each. Depends on my mood. One of my favorite spots is here in my own backyard.😊
Disconnecting from the many distractions and stress from the outside world and just taking time to “BE” is what it’s all about! Meditation has so many benefits, like increasing self awareness and lowering stress.

Weight loss tips seem to be everywhere…but how about we stop and take a look at the basics first?!👏🏼
Here are THREE of the most important tips to keep in mind:
1️⃣ Prioritize your sleep!💤
2️⃣ Eat more protein! 🍽
3️⃣ Stop following fad diets and remember…you’re creating a lifestyle change for long term!🗓
If these factors aren’t in line, then you may have a much more difficult time with your weight loss journey.

Reflecting on today, a few reminders come to mind for all of you!
Most women are natural born caregivers. For some of us, that means putting others before ourselves. I want to remind you, that in order to take care of others, you need to make your health and wellness a priority too.
It doesn’t have be hour long workouts in the gym or any fancy meal.
💙Get outside and get walking, go play pickle ball, play tag with your kids!
💙Choose lean meats and veggies!
💙Remember it’s ok to treat yourself once in a while. Go for a massage or get your nails done.
Do things that help you feel good about yourself-whatever that looks like! Have a great rest of your week and keep these tips in mind!😊
