I'm a husband and father of three who was loosing a battle with GFS disease until someone anonymously donated a kidney to me! Please follow my new journey!
I am a dedicated husband and father of three amazing children ages 15, 13 and 1 month. I am loosing my battle with GFS Kidney disease. I, along with my doctors are working quickly to obtain a living donor kidney before mine completely fail. I am working with Crozer Chester Transplant team and if you are interested in donating, please call 610-497-6594. On this page you will find me documenting my
Hello - as the day comes to a close, I just wanted to note the fifth anniversary of Jim's transplant. It's hard to believe all that's happened in the past five years. Needless to say all of the love and support we received over the years is invaluable.
I realized that I haven't updated the page much since I wrote last year about the fourth "kidneyversary," and honestly I'm not sure what more there would be to say. I think the five year mark is worth noting, but since Jim is no longer with us, I don't know about noting the "kidneyversaries" moving forward.
Jim was very proud of this page and for the connection and community it created. I know he would ask you to continue to keep his donor family in your thoughts and prayers.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you all so much for your love, support, care, concern, thoughts, prayers and generosity. It has meant more than you could know.
Jim loved, and was loved, and gave it his all, always. 💚
I can't believe it's been a year since we've been without Jim... For those who've kept us in thought and prayer, thank you.
Jim is loved and missed very much but we feel his presence every day. 💚
Hello - I know it's been a while since I've posted but there are a couple of important things I'd like to share.
Jim's mom, Mrs. Hannigan, Mrs. H, Betty, Granny as she was affectionately known passed away peacefully last week. Needless to say, she was obviously heartbroken after Jim died so I'm happy to know that she's been reunited with him and other loved ones. May she rest in peace. She will be missed. Please keep the Hannigan family and those who loved Mom in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you.
Today marks what would have been the fourth anniversary of Jim's kidney transplant - his kidneyversary and I just wanted to honor it in some way, as I know he would. We were so amazed at how the whole thing transpired. Jim took such pride in being the only one that the surgeon knew of who'd had a successful preemptive transplant that happened the way it did. And a preemptive transplant was exactly what Jim had hoped for. When the kidney disease returned, it was discouraging but Jim remained hopeful and positive.
Because of the transplant and gift of life, we were able to have a few full years of life with Jim (though we certainly thought we'd have many more). While there were some bumps in the road, Jim didn't have to be on dialysis, was able to work full-time, participate and serve in groups and activities he enjoyed, and most importantly love Abigail and I, as well as his family and friends.
Thank you all again so very much for your love, care, concern, support, and prayers for Jim and our family over the years. It has meant more than you could know and I am so grateful. 💚
Happy Easter! I know that Jim wouldn't have let today go by without a post so I will do my best to share a message I think he would appreciate.
Hope you all are well, healthy and hopeful for Spring and the beauty and rebirth it brings.
Thank you again for your support and care.
Hello friends -
Just thought I'd share this post I'd written in honor of Jim's birthday today. Thank you again for your support.
I love this picture of Jim at his 50th birthday! He looks so happy, and he was. While we weren't able to celebrate with everyone we would have liked to, I'm so glad we were able to have a wonderful party for him. When I posted this, I couldn't have imagined that I would be spending some of his birthday this year at the cemetery with my darling daughter. She and I had a nice day creating some new traditions though and for that I'm grateful.
I'm trusting that Jim is free, at peace, and watching over us. And that he knows how much he is loved and missed.
