One of our more frequently asked questions! How long do you need to wait between the serving sizes listed in the app? 🤔

The serving sizes listed in the app are per meal, not per day 🍽️⏰ There is no definite rule in regards to how long you should wait in between (as everyone's gut works at slightly different speeds), but we generally say that 4-5 hours should be sufficient

Should we toast 🍞 to the 🎉New Year?
If you are sensitive, you can still eat tasty & nourishing toast based meals. I created a few of my favorite toast toppings:
1️⃣ all natural peanut butter, strawberry jam & chia seeds. ( my favorites: pb & strawberry 🍓 jam).
2️⃣ poached egg, arugula, smashed avocado 🥑 ( limit to a 2-3 tablespoons of avocado, if sorbitol sensitive), crushed red pepper flakes, and a drizzle of good quality EVOO.
3️⃣lactose free cottage cheese, a couple tablespoons of pomegranate arils & a tablespoon of chopped walnuts or alternatively h**p seeds- maybe a drizzle of pure maple 🍁 syrup too. ( I love lactose free cottage cheese). 4️⃣a schmear of all natural almond butter, a few banana slices, and just a few sunflower seeds for crunch. ( I love almond butter)
P.S. the toast featured is millet bread- made with low ingredients (It is not .)

Spaghetti squash layered with arugula 🌱, pomegranate arils, cooked green lentils, sliced carrots🥕, crumbled feta then drizzled with homemade lemon 🍋 tahini dressing. Soooo good...colorful, fresh, fiber rich and low . Keep lentil & pomegranate arils portion in check for low FODMAP elimination diet: lentils limited to 1/4 c for cooked lentils- or 1/2 c for canned lentils per serving and 1/4 of pomegranate arils per serving.

Let me explain...the low diet is not very intuitive in the beginning- many foods are high in FODMAPs that you may have never thought might trigger IBS symptoms. Foods such as watermelon, celery, cashews, dates or even, the sweetener, agave syrup. So in the beginning of the low diet using low & high FODMAP lists is essential. As you move through the 3 phases and identify foods that DO NOT trigger symptoms- you need to re-frame these foods to neutral status. So many ppl have the high list memorized and often think these foods are bad or off the table forever- this is absolutely not the case! If eating several stalks of celery doesn’t bother your gut- eat them. If watermelon 🍉 isn’t a trigger food- eat it! The structure of a list is important initially for a low diet- but as you learn more about your body and what it tolerates- move away from the FODMAP lists- and let your body guide you. And, remember a little gas or bloating is NORMAL after eating. A trigger food includes foods that brings on an flare, contributes to diarrhea 💩, constipation or abdominal pain.
