The family lives in Rifle but meals can be delivered to us or her brother (our neighbor) who will deliver them in the mornings in his way to work in the area.
Other options that will be received with gratitude are gift cards for local restaurants ($50+), Uber Eats ($50+), and/or formula (contact meal coordinator for specifics).
Please drop off meals for delivery the night before between 5 and 6pm.
Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity after this Mother of two young children went through extensive surgery with multiple complications. It is appreciated beyond words.

Hi Meekerites!
I’ve recently been informed by a close friend of the Hobbs’ Family that their immediate needs have been met and they’re no longer in need of monetary and/or meal donations; however, anything you can give to Muxlow Family to help cover extensive medical bills would be greatly appreciated. 💜

Thank you for your hearts, prayers, and actions - whatever that may look like - for “one or our own” in their time of need. 💜

Twenty-year-old Raden Wade is a human carpenter living in the elven kingdom of Enicia. In the wake of a forest fire, he rescues an elderly elf raving about dead birds, a lost sister, and an attack on her House. With his livelihood burned and destitution threatening his grandparents, the mad crone may be his only hope.
Leoni, sister of the House of Time, tries to prove herself in her studies and weapons’ training. Raised in solitude with her mentor and raven, Leoni must master her arts if she is to protect the secrets forming the bedrock of the Enician monarchy. Some secrets hurt those who serve them, and an orphaned apprentice is no exception.
When their paths cross, unlikely alliances form. A quest begins to save the Houses. Fraught with ancient politics, giants, face stealing shape-shifters, and betrayal, their search for truth leads them to reevaluate everything they know. If the Houses fall, the kingdom falls. Will two millennia of peace end in blood, or can Raden and Leoni change the wings of fate?

Friends, please take a moment to read Lacey’s story through the words of her fourteen-year-old son and reflect on how you can stand with them in this scary and stressful season.
If you are able to contribute financially, please know there’s no amount “too small” and every donation is received with the humility and spirit of gratitude that defines this family.
If you are able to contribute a meal after she returns from her extended hospital, please stay tuned to this page for the link to sign up toward the end of this month (will be seeking coverage for the first two weeks of February).
Perhaps neither of those are options, but you’d like to help in some other way?
Please don’t understand the value and weight of an encouraging word and know Lacey - and her family - appreciate your prayers and good wishes.
Thank you in advance for your time and generosity!

Today, we had the tremendous privilege of celebrating community with family, friends, and the residents that make their home at The Pines.
It was a beautiful day gift wrapped in joy and love as we gathered around a couple of big tables to share delicious food, conversation, laughs, music, and life stories.
And it’s safe to say based on the feedback from all that we’re already looking forward to doing it again next year!
For now, speaking both personally and on behalf of Helping Hearts, I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude to a few people.
To my husband, Noel, who utilized his time/energy this week shopping and doing the bulk of the cooking: We were all fed - satisfyingly at that! - because of YOU. There are simply no words big enough to do justice to the honor you deserve, my humble king… but THANK YOU for being my partner in every endeavor and cheerfully doing more than your fair share at every opportunity you can, especially when I’m sick/down.
I love you with every part of me - unconditionally and unequivocally.
To my children, Joshua, Emmalyn, & Ellyana: You three were absolutely incredible helpers and I cannot begin to put words around neither the height, width, and depth of my love for every. single. part. of you nor the holy pride watching each of you blossom, flourish, and simply shine with your huge love for people, servants’ hearts, gifts, strengths… and “YES!”, says your *ahem* VERY quirky mother… your quirks too!
Y’all may be “little” in some ways, but a) NEVER let anyone’s opinion usurp the authority of God’s Word that instructs us “big” people not to “despise the youth”. It is out of the “mouths of babes” that TRUTH is declared with the purest of love.
And b) As your mama, I can unequivocally say without hesitation that none of you EVER have to entertain doubt or fear (although you will because that’s normal as a human - your job is to surrender those emotions to God “on repeat” while asking for wisdom until you have peace around what to do next) that while you’re always going to be growing in some way, y’all are already MIGHTY and POWERFUL.
To my mom and dad, Levi and Darcy: It was/is your example that primarily laid the foundation for everything about today. From equipping us with the skills to cook, giving us opportunities to clean, and always being willing to set another plate at the table for someone in need of food, family, or both. THANK YOU for showing up and bringing your supply - whatever that has looked like - in every season to date. We honor, respect, and love you both immensely. And I hope “less is more” applies here because, quite frankly, my mind boggles at the infinite number of examples I’ve personally witnessed and/or heard about from others - near and far.
And that is a hard YES! re: others “gossiping” behind your backs around your good deeds. I have ALWAYS been proud of where I come from even when I was confused about who I was and I can say with all honesty and no hesitation that serving others by your sides as a grown woman - with your full support in the work I/we do - is one of the GREATEST privileges of my life.
To my sister, Ashley, brother-in-love, Pete, nephews, Dominik & Elijah, and Nana Reta: A young, busy, and neurodivergent family and y’all still showed up with food and smiles, cheerfully serving, helping clean up, etc.
Although none of you - for reasons I respect - are on social media (except you, Nana Reta… haaaiiii if you see this haha), each and every one of you unapologetically wave your brilliantly beautiful freak flags boldly, perceive others’ often while they’re still unaware it exists or are simply anxious about unfurling it, and you give them the gift of your presence and its protective covering, empowering them to do it on their own. I’ve watched it happen time and again and I’m in awe every time.
THANK YOU for all the sacrifice and being present.
To my husband’s best friend, brother-in-Christ, and fellow Housing Authority board member, Sean: It was above and beyond that you blessed us with your presence today. Especially with a back injury and a busy family of your own. I’m not surprised at this point because I’ve come to learn that’s simply who you are as a human being, but please know you were seen and heard and that you showing up mattered - and always will. For every single person there.
To Stacie and Mike: Huge thanks for the permission, spreading the word, coordinating with us, and getting extra tables/chairs ready to be set up.
To Robin and Lacey: Your generosity on the items we utilized to make their space a little extra festive and beautiful for dinner today still has my heart overflowing and jaw dropping. Y’all are a blessing to this community and I’ll leave it at that so as to not embarrass anyone too much.
And last but not least, Shawnie and family: THANK YOU for the beautiful and abundant supply of plates, napkins, silverware, etc. y’all provided for the feast today. I know I speak for a whole lot of grateful people that there weren’t hours of dishes/clean up to do afterward. Your hearts and your contribution was/is truly appreciated.
Happy Gratitude Day, friends! We hope each of you had a special, peaceful, and safe day celebrating with your loved ones too. Whatever that may look like for you/yours!
Just remember there’s always a seat at our table for you too. 💜
Hi Friends! Quick FYI:
During the Mountain Valley Bank Festival this year, the Colorado Housing & Finance Authority Association (CHFA) will be sponsoring a PICKLEBALL Tournament.
All donations will go toward supporting the Rio Blanco County Safehouse that provides resources, counseling and more for survivors of domestic violence.
Please consider stopping by to participate in the fun, donate if you’re able, and show your support for this organization doing powerful, difficult work in our community.
Thank you! đź’ś
Every human being has limitations and the boundaries around them - physical, financial, etc. - should be honored.
Every human being, including their families, also know what it’s like for unimaginable tragedy to strike without warning.
In these types of situations, when there is nothing to be done except pray and wait, the next best way we can unite in love is through the protection of provision for practical needs as they navigate their way through the crisis itself and the exacerbation of it secondary to the financial hardship it has produced.
If you are able and/or willing to donate to this family in need, no amount is too small to make a big difference in their suffering. Thank you in advance for your compassion and generosity!
