Emotions arise from bad and outdated programming that no longer serves us. Don't be fooled into acting upon these very unpleasant feelings. Sit with them to better understand where the lie originates.....then smile knowing you freed yourself from your own prison.

Let your behavior be the monument you leave behind. Because that’s what you control and the satisfaction you get from it is priceless. Do such great work and be such a powerful example — through this you will earn your own respect and it doesn't come at the cost of worry, fear or the endless race of status anxiety by chasing your ambitions.

Instead of chasing ambitions, fame and applause….focus on the “good virtues”

Full Sail University and my current class, Composition & Visual Design, has been the best learning experience since starting Digital Cinematography Degree last November. The technical skills, tools and knowledge learned has been tremendous in just 2 x short weeks. The biggest struggles I have had this week has been honestly digesting the assignment requirements. I feel I understand the exposure, focus and white balance workflows, but really struggle to capture all the Behind-the-Scene (BTS) and Viewfinder shots required for the weekly assignment. I did develop a handy cheatsheet / checklist of all Mr. Baker's teaching points. This document has helped me further understand the workflow and facilities easy shooting while out in the field. That is another aspect of this week's assignments that I struggled with....shooting on location. It is so easy to forget a piece of gear, which I did while shooting the deep Depth-of-Field shot of the Cocoa Beach Pier. I forgot my white balance card, but luckily remembered the "K" value of a setting sun to get my white balance workflow complete. Combine these "off-the-cuff" work arounds with my rookie calibrated eye = a decent shoot. Besides the cheatsheet I developed, I found the blackboard YouTube videos to really help explain the concept of "depth of field". I can now look back at last week's shoot and see the very small and shallow depth of field in the foreground.

I feel so much more confident with manual photography concepts and techniques. I look forward to the next 2 x weeks of Composition & Visual Design......great course!
