Florida Tech Again Earns 'Military Friendly School' Designation - Florida Tech News Florida Tech, who earned a Silver award, was the lone Florida institution to receive the Military Friendly School distinction.
Congratulations CDT Mont!
We only have two more weeks left of before we take a little summer break!
It's Thursday and time to introduce our Cadet of the Week 🎉
Meet AnnMarie Mont, a freshman majoring in Construction Management at Florida Institute of Technology.
Mont joined because she strives to be a better leader and work toward her goals every day.
"I work to endlessly pursue excellence. As someone with an able body, I could not be content with myself if I did not set myself up in a career that lets me help others. Army ROTC is rigorous both academically and physically, and I knew that would be beneficial to me in college because it would provide a solid structure to live by every day."
ROTC also appealed to Mont because of a love for sports, teams, and competition.
"ROTC will surround you with equally motivated people, who are just as eager to succeed, and because of this, all team efforts here are strong ones. Everyone wants to be here for a reason. The environment it cultivates is like no other."
Mont's favorite quote perfectly summarizes her motivation to show up and be a better leader than the day before: “The best teams do not work with each other; they work for each other."
"I am motivated as a leader when I see the other teammates that show up every day, for the team's sake, I will always work harder as a leader. I greatly appreciate the beauty in a group of people coming together to work towards something bigger than themselves, and it is always an honor to get to be spearheading that effort."
She loves being part of the Panther Battalion and going to school in Florida. On campus, Mont is also part of the Martial Arts Association and the American Builders and Contractors 🔨.
When she graduates and commissions, Mont hopes to pursue a career as an Army Engineer.

Congratulations to Cadet Landeros at South Fork Highschool!
Our JROTC is CDT Liberty Landeros from South Fork Highschool!
"Have you ever met a Cadet and just knew that he or she was born to be a leader? Those are my exact thoughts about Liberty – a natural leader. Liberty is only a LET 2, yet she performs and carries herself at a much higher level – oftentimes outshining LET 3s and LET 4s. Liberty is currently a Company Commander and was chosen for this position, over more Senior Cadets based on her level of maturity, dedication to the program and her willingness to learn. Not only was Liberty selected to serve as a Commander, but she was also awarded Cadet of the Year and serves on all South Fork High School JROTC extracurricular teams (Raiders, Marksmanship, Drill, Saber Guard and JLAB). And there is never an event for which Liberty does not volunteer. Liberty amazes me in so many ways, in that, for someone so young, she takes on a lot of responsibility and always handles the associated pressure, stress and workload with surprising maturity – never failing and always exceeding the standard. Liberty routinely displays selfless service – whether she is teaching self-defense to young children, sweating alongside her fellow Raiders or leading her company, Liberty always gives her all."
You are an inspiration, CDT Landeros! Keep up the great work!

For our we are highlighting CDT Mason Costa from FIT Army ROTC (Panther Battalion)!
"Mason is one of those Cadets who enter the program humble and hungry, and it’s a given he has the potential to accomplish anything he sets his mind on. I have his initial counseling where he set the goal of attaining a 600 on the ACFT. His first score was a 596. He would remind each day that the next test was going to be the one and sure enough, he became the second Cadet in our Battalion’s history to score a 600. But that wasn’t enough he instantly set his eyes on his next goal which is Project Go this upcoming summer. He sets the standard and offers motivation and assistance to the other Cadets in the battalion.”
You are an inspiration, CDT Costa!!

FIT ROTC Cadets doing great things:
The FITSEC - Cybersecurity team took 5th place out of 4796 team competitors. The team captain was our very own Cadet Chandler Hake.
FITSEC Cybersecurity Team takes home 5th place at the National Cyber League Team Tournament
Out of 4,796 competition teams, our very own L3Harris Institute for Assured Information FITSEC Cybersecurity Competition team took home 5th place at the National Cyber League Team Tournament this past weekend! While the results are provisional until they are officially announced on Friday, we could not be prouder of the group of students than we are now. They fought hard this past weekend over the course of 72 hours competing against the very best and making the other teams sweat as they were not willing to give up at the very end.
This achievement marks six straight top-ten finishes for the students. FITSEC fielded five full teams taking home the #26, #39, #68, and #108 positions out of the 4,796 competition teams.
Chandler Hake captained this year's 5th-ranked team and led an outstanding team including previous national champions Curtice Gough and Alex Schmith. The team also included Louis Orcinolo, John Sellock, Lilith Fort, and Marcus Feliciano all of whom are computer science students with cyber operations concentration making the team one of the strongest in the nation.
On the FITSEC depth chart, Maria Linkins-Nielsen, Cody Manning, Joshua Hartzfeld, Joao Silva, Jaylin Ollivierre, Liam Dumbell, and Catherine DiResta, who are students in Computer Science with Cyber Operations curriculum, led a tremendous effort to chase Chandler's team.
We wish to congratulate you in your accomplishments and success! You have continued to make us proud in your efforts and fierce competitiveness with integrity and honor. Well Done FITSEC! Well Done!
A BIG Congratulations to CDT Burns on receiving a three-year scholarship!

" The ARMY ROTC Scholarship affirmed my continued commitment to the Army and upholding its combat readiness and physical fitness standards. Attaining this scholarship was a single step on a long and rewarding journey within the Army. These scholarships offer the support and foundation upon which cadets may produce high-yield prospects as an Officer and strengthen the spirit within cadet ranks; for this opportunity, I am grateful and plan to return the investment my country has made in me through welfare protection and national defense. Thank you, Florida Tech Panther Battalion and Army ROTC!" - CDT BURNS
