Patteripurackal Integrated Farm

Our Story

“Patteripurackal Eco-friendly Integrated Organic Farm” …. the centuries old home of the erstwhile ‘Patteripurackal family’ is on the banks of river Pampa, at Melpadom, about 6 kms from Mannar/Parumala, in Alappuzha Dist, Kerala, India.

During India’s freedom struggle this house was used by the leaders of freedom fighters as a ‘hide out’. The Govt. of India honored (late) Mr. P.C. Mathew, the then head of the House, with the coveted “Thamra Patra” for his active participation in the freedom struggle.

The nostalgia … the fond memories of the yester years has prompted the creation of this “Eco-friendly ‘Integrated Organic Farm” to provide a feel of nature with its virgin beauty … away from the hustles and bushels of the present world …. a calm village atmosphere with the smell of nature and chirping of birds …. a serine feeling …. a rejuvenating experience …. a fest to the eyes, mind and body …..

The Integrated Farm … “a mini zoo & a botanical garden” … an abode for a variety of domesticated birds and animals besides a good collection of fruit trees, vegetables, medicinal plants (some them very rare now a days). Enjoy fishing in the Fish Pond, taste the fresh fish caught from pond … taste the organically grown fruits and vegetables. Touch and feel the untinged love of the birds and animals which would certainly be an unforgettable experience. Adventure minded can row a boat in the fish pond …. experience sitting in the ‘Island Hut’ in the middle of the fish pond ….. take a nap in the ‘Tree House’ …. The Farm is growing day by day. Experience it … be with nature.

Cruise in House boat/motor boat through the rivers and back waters, etc., also can be arranged.

The other attractions in the vicinity are : Pampa river, Achankovil river, merging point of Pampa and Achankovil rivers, the Holy churches -- Parumala Church (6 kms). Niranam Church (8 kms), Edathua Church (10 kms), Chakkulathkavu Temple (13 kms), Mannarashala Temple ( 9 kms). Vast lush green paddy fields (vast lake during monsoon) is a treat to the eyes.

The Farm can be reached by road : Harippad - NH47 (10 kms), Thiruvalla (15 kms). The nearest railway stations : Harippad (10 kms), Tiruvalla ( 16 kms), Chengannoor (17 kms). Airports : Kochi and Truvanathapuram.
