Before

2 Phantom Executives and standard fixed screens and doors on both ends create an insect-free zone for the club patrons. It's now a great place to sit, socialize, eat & drink, and watch golfers on the course.

Back in May of 2012, Southern Screens and LSU began the engineering and planning for the installation of motored solar screens for their 2 club level restaurants. The windows that you see in the pictures face due west and from summer to mid-fall the afternoon sun made the restaurants uncomfortably hot. The glare was blinding.

In April of this year, we received the go-ahead from LSU. The system that we used is the Draper Colossal Flexshade, and that name isn't just hype. Each of the 2 nearly identical systems consisted of 5 units whose width was sized to fall on the vertical window mullions. Overall width of each group is 94'. The units were hung 36' high, with deployable mesh (KoolBlack 3%) of 31'.

The lightest of the units weighed 380 lbs; the heaviest - 580 lbs. This was no job for neophytes or pretenders. The team at Southern Screens proved once again that our DNA is pure construction. The installation was completed in 4-1/2 working days under some of the tightest conditions imaginable.

Bass Pro Shop Pyramid Project
County health codes prohibit open-air kitchens from selling food to the public. When Bass Pro found that out, they called Southern Screens. Smart move. Only Southern Screens has the custom mega-roller modification system called "Maxed-Out" that we engineered and invented. It allows The Catfish Restaurant to open its doors while the restaurant and open-kitchen are in operation. These 2 'one-of-a-kind' screen systems are 39'4" wide x 9' high. From first contact to completion - 16 days! Certificate of Occupancy was granted to Bass Pro 3 days later (Monday, 4/27). We'll post final pictures and videos soon.

This is one of the buildings in the WWII museum in New Orleans. We'll be installing Draper Motorized Solar Screens this week. This is our 2nd project teaming up with Decorator Depot from Baton Rouge.
