Trailer safety begins with the proper hook-up procedures.

We've circled them here for you!

1: Verify you have the right hitch with a weight rating suitable for a car trailer. Our trailers use a 2"or 2 5/16" ball.

2: After lowering the trailer onto the ball, close the coupler lock and raise the jack up and out of the way.

3: Cross the chains and attach them to the tow points on either side of the hitch on your vehicle.

4: Attach the break away cable to the same area beside the hitch.

5: Plug in the electric.

6: Step back.

7: Verify that the chains are high enough from the ground that they will not drag, even when going over a bump, but also low enough that you will be able to turn with the trailer.

8: Make sure none of the other cables can get caught or drag on the ground.

9: Check that the trailer is sitting level, if not, you may need to start over and raise/lower the ball on your hitch.

10: Check the lights on the trailer by turning on your left and right turn signals, brakes, and headlights.
