Thank you, Lauderdale County Health Department for inviting our MHU team to the Immunization Fair. We are grateful that several DNP students were able to participate in this special event.

We appreciate the community partnership! ⭐️

We were able to help several children overcome their hesitancy for vaccines by giving them a “Boo-Boo Buddy” stuffed animal 🧸. The kids got to pretend to give their new friend “a shot” with a needleless syringe and a bandaid. We helped to explain the importance of keeping their new buddy healthy through this process. Then they got to take the buddy home for comfort and play after getting updated with their own immunizations.

These students were terrific at educating the participants as well as continuing to promote the MHU availability in the area.

During this first week back to school, we have already helped many children get well-child exams completed along with providing care for sick individuals within the community. This effort also helps our students learn more about healthcare in rural populations.

We are glad to serve the community, and we look forward to helping people in Lauderdale County be as healthy as possible.

Tuesday Tip:
Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated! 💧 💦 💧 As these temperatures are getting hot 🥵, your body needs enough water to work well.

Members of the MHU team were out in neighboring Dyer County (adjacent to both Lake and Lauderdale Counties) to offer services today. Christ Classical Academy students were able to receive sports physicals and the Dyer Co Veterans Coalition meeting members were able to learn more about services (via telehealth to Tennesseans) or onsite at various locations in Lake and Lauderdale counties.
