We are still catching our breath from our FIRST fundraising event almost two weeks ago! It’s important for us to extend our gratitude to all of our supporters- individuals that donated money to support our mission and vision and individuals that devoted their time. With your help we were able to raise almost $3,000 to support mental health access, awareness, and advocacy.
Thank you so much to our local bands that donatedtheir time: Daily Cosmic, The Delta Paisons, and DJ Cory D. Thank you to our volunteers/community partners Love Doesn't Hurt (Phillis Lewis), Kimberly Brooke Jones,Miles Bryant, Jane Pfitzenmaier, and Amber Holmes Miller. Thank you to our many local artisans that donated auction items for our cause.
Last but not least, we want to give a huge thank you to Neils Bar for allowing us to host our event at your venue!
Until next time-continue to shine a light on mental health. 🔦

We are a newly formed nonprofit, but the needs we serve are by no means new to our community. Our reflection on the past week’s events just reinvigorate our mission and purpose. We will continue to work passionately and earnestly for our community. 💪🏾Thank you to Ayanna Watkins, MICAH - Memphis Interfaith Coalition for Action and Hope, for eloquently reminding us why we continue to serve. 🎯The Braid Foundation’s mission is based on the need for mental health awareness, access, and advocacy for our systemically-marginalized community members. Listen when she says “When folks are having a mental health crisis, it’s hard for those with money, and privilege, and insurance, and access to get services right away….we can do better to resource one another.” 💗 Take care of yourselves, Memphis. What are you doing this weekend to “remind yourself that the ground underneath you is still firm”?
