Local nursing students undergo training in mock disaster - WBBJ TV A mock disaster to teach nursing students emergency preparedness took place today at the Jim Moss Center for nursing, on the Jackson State Community College campus.

Now we can proudly say ALL 2023 graduates passed their NCLEX on their first attempt!

Nursing Foundations got creative with Physical Assessment in class! They created t-shirts identifying the areas for lung and heart auscultation 💚🫀🩺

The Accreditation Comission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) Board of Commissioners granted Jackson State Community College (JSCC)‘s Nursing Program continuing accreditation through Spring 2031. This is an outstanding achievement!

Our Nursing program graduates have once again earned a 100% pass rate on the first attempt of the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX). Forty-five of our graduates sat and passed the exam, adding them to our nearly 1,000 graduate roster who have passed the exam over the last decade.

“We hold our students to high standards here at Jackson State to ensure they are prepared and ready to not only enter the workforce but to excel in their careers,” said Dean of Nursing & Health Sciences, Program Director and Professor of Nursing, Dr. Leslie West Sands. “Our long-standing tradition of excellence is a testament to the hard work of our faculty, staff, and clinical partners that are dedicated to supporting students in becoming competent and caring nurses. I’m proud of the caliber of nurses we’re creating here and happy to see yet another class earn their licensure.”
