“Rose is stepping into the hot seat at one of Tennessee’s most tradition-rich programs. Officially, East has won eight state titles, which is the second-most in state history (the program’s 2018 title was vacated due to recruiting violations involving former player James Wiseman).”
“Rose’s relationship with East principal Pamela McKinley, who formerly served in the same role at Overton, played a big role in his decision to make the move to Binghampton.
‘She just said that she watched ... just how I carried (myself),’ he said. ‘Everything I did at the school — decorating the doors, making the locker room look like it’s supposed to look — (she said) it showed how much I love the boys. She was like ‘If I ever get (another) job, I want you to come with me.’”
After leading Overton to state title, Shelvie Rose heading to East Rose says he’s ready to tackle the high expectations of one of the state’s top programs.
Welcome home, Coach Shelvie Rose 🎉 Go,
