Tennessee tops US in financial-aid forms, but many high schools lag behind Two Frayser high schools increased financial-aid application completion rates this year, bucking state and district trends. But more students still need to fill out the form for college.

She was awarded $5,000 for the garden! , BVI, and went to Soulsville to present the award to Sherita.

TSCS School Closure Notification - Power Outage Continues

Good Morning, TSCS staff, students, and families:

We hope this message finds you well. We are writing to inform you that the power outage we experienced yesterday is still ongoing, and as a result, The Soulsville Charter School will remain closed today Thursday, September 21, 2023.

The safety and well-being of our students and staff are our top priorities, and unfortunately, the continued power outage makes it impossible for us to conduct regular school activities. We understand that this may be inconvenient for many of you, and we apologize for any disruption this may cause.

Please be assured that we are working closely with the local power company to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. We will continue to monitor the situation and keep you updated on any developments. In the meantime, we encourage students to use this time to catch up on any assignments and readings they may have missed.

Given the circumstances, it is important to note that today's closure will not impact students' attendance records, and absences will be marked as excused. Students will not be penalized for missing school today, and teachers will make necessary adjustments to accommodate missed coursework once we are back to regular school operations.

We understand that this situation may raise questions or concerns, so please feel free to reach out to us via email if you need any assistance or have any specific concerns.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation during this challenging time. We look forward to resuming normal school operations as soon as power is restored. Please stay safe, and we will keep you informed of any further updates.

MPLOY is a locally funded initiative administered by MOYS that provides City of Memphis youth ages 14 to 22 with meaningful and rewarding summer experiences. The MPLOY Youth Summer Experience offers various career path options according to the participants’ strengths and interests, including soft skills training, entry-level positions, and internships.

Some of the top employers in the Memphis area make this possible by agreeing to serve as Business Partners and Service Providers, offering structured job opportunities for youth for six weeks during the summer months.

Students will be financially compensated for their work completed during the program. This will also count as their Summer Growth Experience (SGE). This past summer, students were still able to complete MPLOY virtually!
