We are deeply saddened about the tragic event that took place in Nashville Monday morning. Our thoughts are with the families of Covenant Presbyterian Church, the Covenant School, and our Nashville community as we grieve and heal from this tragedy.

It breaks our hearts to think of the bright futures that Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs, and William Kinney could have had, had they been given the chance to grow up into thriving adults and Cynthia Peak, Katherine Koonce, and Mike Hill, who could have continued to lead had they not been taken from us so tragically and senselessly.

As a community, we mourn their loss deeply. We grieve for the futures that they will never have, the milestones they will never reach, and the impact they will never make on the world. We hold their families, friends, and loved ones in our hearts during this time of unimaginable sorrow.

May we all continue to work together to promote compassion, healing, and kindness in our communities, and may those affected by this tragedy find comfort and solace in the days ahead.
