Meet "Reggie". This very handsome boy is a 4 yr old mini Aussie. He weighs in at about 30 lbs and is, in almost all ways, a perfect boy. He LOVES people and is a supremely good cuddler. He walks well on a leash, is completely housebroken, hoards his toys and is just a wonderful companion dog.
He is fine with other dogs his size or smaller but big dogs intimidate him. Also, he is a cat chaser so a cat free home is necessary.
Other than that, he is a keeper. Reggie is neutered, vaccinated and on heartworm prevention.
He is being fostered near Clarksville, TN.
His adoption fee is $300 and, as we always do, we will require a fenced yard.
If you're interested in Reggie, please email us your contact information at [email protected]

UPDATE: SHADOW IS NOW WITH OUR RESCUE. SHE IS NOT YET AVAILABLE AS SPAY NEEDS TO BE COMPLETED IN EARLY SEPT. STAY TUNED!
This one yr old, female border collie has not gotten a break in this world and we're trying to help her. She comes out of a domestic violence situation so she's seen more trauma than she ever should have. Now she is in the shelter and you can see her fear. She has no idea what has happened.
We are told she is great with other dogs and with kids. No information on cats.

UPDATE: ELLE HAS FOUND A FOSTER. STAY TUNED FOR UPDATES
This little beauty is "Elle". She is a one yr old border colliie that is in a local shelter. If we can find a foster for her, we can save her from a very full shelter and a short time to find safety.
Elle is under 40 lbs, housebroken, vaccinated and spayed. We evaluated her and found that she is very sweet and loves other dogs. We have no information about cats.

UPDATE: Both of these boys have found homes!
Both of these one year old male border collies are in a middle TN shelter. They are brothers and they are still just puppies. We know they don't look groomed, their coats aren't shiny and their surroundings aren't appealing but they need help.

UPDATE: COMET HAS AN ADOPTION PENDING
Meet "Comet". He is a one yr old, purebred, male. He has a huge love of people and does well with the other dog in his current home.
Like most border collies, he likes to herd small children so that is why he needs a new home.... one with older children.
Comet is seriously smart, curious and happy. He is crate trained and uses the doggie door to go in and out when it suits him. He loves to ride along on car trips/errands with his owner.
He hasn't been tested on cats but we suspect he would want to chase them as well.

UPDATE: REESE IS ADOPTED!

Here she is! This is "Reese". This little border collie baby girl is a ball of energy and fun and now ready for a home.
Reese is believed to be a purebred border collie. She is about 14 weeks old and up to date on her vaccines and heartworm prevention.
She is the perfect girl for someone looking for a energetic, playful, cuddly girl, water loving girl in a baby bc body.
Here's what her foster says, "Reese is a social butterfly who does not shy from meeting new people or new dogs. She loves to cuddle once she has burned off some energy. She is a very active pp that will do best in a performance home or with a very active family. She is up for most anything (especially if it involves water)"

Remember us telling you about this boy.... "Dodge"? Here is his story and now an adoption update. This is our favorite kind of story.
His story: Dodge is an approximately 3 yr old border collie or close mix. He was abandoned by his owner in AR. For weeks, he just slept in the front yard of the only home he had ever known. Wonderful neighbors would feed him. He would seek shelter from storms under nearby structures. When he did see people out and about, he would trot over to say hi and try to follow them home. Just looking for a family.
Someone brought him to us thin and scroungy from hunger, neglect and abandonment. He was heavy heartworm positive and had a face full of bb pellets from someone's cruelty.
He had the most wonderful, tenacious fosters that would not give up on him. They have taught him the joys of being a dog, playing frisbee and cuddling.
He has secured a place in their hearts and will be their dog forever.
Happy life Dodge🥰🥰

UPDATE: MOLLY IS ADOPTED

Meet "Molly" Molly is a young, approx 43 lb, female border collie who is looking for her forever home.
Molly is a survivor. For weeks last winter she was lost in middle TN. She somehow survived the brutal weather, little food and predators. When she was finally rescued, she was pregnant and would soon deliver 8 puppies.
Through it all, this amazing girl has kept her sweetness and her hope to have a family.
She has learned alot in her foster home and regularly loves to go for hikes and walks. She does a "nearly perfect heel" according to her foster and watches for what her foster wants her to do next. Amazing! She trusts people easily and is the ultimate cuddler dog once she feels safe.
She is good with other dogs, ignores cats and loves people. She has so much going for her.
Molly is spayed, fully vaccinated and on heartworm prevention.
Molly is being fostered in middle TN. If you are interested, please email us at [email protected]
Her adoption fee is $350.
Molly will require a secure fence.

A story for your holiday season. This is "Cooper". We found him early this year in a rural Kentucky shelter. We knew he was old and his eyes told a story. He was defeated by life having been handed off to the shelter by an owner that no longer wanted him. The shelter estimated he was 10 yrs old. Like so so many dogs in shelters, he was passed by because nobody wanted an old dog... too much cost, too few years to enjoy them.
As we often do, we decided to jump in. We had nowhere for him to go, expected few foster offers and did not know what expenses we would face with such an old guy. We did know that we were his only hope. We called him "Lucky".
And then, as so often happens, one of our longtime rescue friends saw our plea. He told us that he and his wife would offer Lucky a home with good food, soft beds and enormous love for whatever time he had. They made a long trip to pick him up. They gave him a new name... Cooper.
We just got this update on Cooper. This is why we do what we do...
" I wanted to give you a quick update on the border collie that was from Southern Kentucky. We call him Cooper. Out of pure circumstance I said a series of words, "come by here", that his ears perked up and he immediately began working. So I began with some other series of commands for a working collie and he immediately jumped on to those however his vision leaves him somewhat limited on following his herd. In this case it was a herd of geese. While he could see them he did wonderfully but when they got way out in front of him he became disoriented on which way to go even with the commands. I was astounded that he was actually a working Border Collie, and that someone gave this poor guy up because of his vision and old age. I took him out this morning when I let our goats out into the main pasture and he was very excited to work a little bit in moving them farther into the one side of the pasture. I didn't overdo it, gave him just enough that he felt he was contributing to the morning chore. He was thrilled when I gave him the command of that'll do, moved back to the UTV and was ready to go back to the house. Just amazing. Usually BC's around here have been family dogs. A rare gem is this one. "

UPDATE: Baby Boo saw the vet today for neuter and xray of his paw because of his limping. The vet tells us that someone must have shot him because he has a small fracture and shrapnel in his foot. He is having surgery on Monday to repair all this.
Some days in rescue are just very heartbreaking. We will never understand how someone could do this to this sweet, trusting puppy.

A short story about this boy. This is "Remy" a stunning one yr old bc. We just rescued him from a sad living condition. We had nowhere for him to go but we couldn't leave him where he was in AL. We talked to folks that were apprehensive because he wasn't kept inside, probably didn't smell good, we didn't know how he was with people or other dogs and they wouldn't take the risk.
Let us tell you.... he is STUNNING and unbelievably sweet. He has found a home with a long time border collie owner and will have a great life.
Most of our dogs don't come gift wrapped or without issues. We are so so lucky that many of our followers will look past that to what a dog can be.
Happy life, Remy. You are awesome!

UPDATE: 11/15/23 Josie is finally able to leave hospitalization at the vet's office and has begun her road to recovery in a home. We think we can be optimistic now but she has a long road to go. Stay tuned for more updates.
This sad, hopeless face belongs to "Josie". She is barely a year old and was living by herself in an abandoned home. By the time she was found, she was almost starved and very desperate.
We went to meet her in the shelter this week and found a shy, scared but very sweet girl . She wants to trust someone and she badly wants someone to show her kindness.
We have committed to her but now she is facing serious illness from her time trying to survive on her own.
If you are able to send any donation $ for her, we will use 100% of that for her care. She is not out of the woods but many good people are doing all they can to help.
Donations can be made via PayPal on our website at www.bordercollierescuewesttn.org (use the "Donate" button)
We hope to update everyone soon with new pictures of a restored life.

UPDATE 10/28
We picked up these dogs today. All three are just stunning red coated, amber eyed border collies. Very sweet, lots of herding drive. So glad we could save them. If you would like to donate to their care, donations can be made via PayPal at www.bordercollierescuewesttn.org.
Urgent help needed for three, 7 mth old border collies. They are going to be put out on the road on Sat if help can't be found.
These pups are red/white border collies. They were dumped near some land in Jackson, TN. Because they are border collies, they started herding the nearby cows and now the landowner wants them gone ASAP. We are trying to help while they still have time. If you can foster, please email us at [email protected]
