Gates Lumber Company is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Mr. Jacob Nabors.

Jacob Nabors had such and gentle loving heart, with always showing much love for all his family and friends, including his best fury friend Frank.

Gates Lumber Company has always been known as a family company, and here at Gates Lumber we all grieve together and mourn with each family member and friend of Mr. Jacob Nabors.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Nabors and the Buzard family during this difficult time.

Gates Lumber will be closed today, January 18th, due to weather conditions and other frozen conditions within the building. ❄️❄️

It is with great sadness to share the loss of one of the greatest employees of Gates Lumber Company, Carl Smith.

Carl was a visionary, someone who could see possibilities where others saw challenges. His innovative ideas, his creative drawing skills, and his unyielding commitment to Gates Lumber Company left memories instilled in many for a lifetime.

We will all miss Carl more than words can express, he was not just our co-worker but family to many of the employees here at Gates Lumber Company.

Gates Lumber Company, the oldest millwork company in the Mid-South, is looking for a full-time inside salesperson. Must have knowledge of, or sales experience in the sales of Doors, Windows, Moulding, and other millwork items. This position will provide an opportunity for the right person. Benefits include:
• 50K + per year

Job Description: Full Time Sales Representative
As a Sales Representative, you will strategically target potential new and existing trade customers (Builders, Architects, Homeowners, Contractors and Developers) to generate new business by converting or growing loyalty to the Gates family of brands. You will also promote the many value-added services that we offer.
Responsibilities include:
• Grow and expand business/sales accounts in assigned territory to gain product loyalty and repeat business
• Convert prospects into repeat customers
• Develop and execute sales strategies and marketing initiative
• Proactively assess, clarify, and validate customer needs on an ongoing basis
• Foster relationships with key decision makers; providing well rounded solutions and market expertise
• Engage in forward selling utilizing consultative sales techniques
• Provide training and consultation when needed to promote Gates products and the value-added services we provide.
• Attend trade shows and trade events
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3 years of outside sales experience in the construction or building materials industries
• Experience selling value or whole product solutions
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
• Self-driven with a high level of work ethic and integrity
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
• Excellent follow-up and follow through
• Building Materials or Construction industry experience preferred
• Ability to work with required technology and software applications (Microsoft Office - Outlook, Excel, Word and various window estimating software)
