BROKEN BOTTLES SUSPECT FACING 10 YEARS ON NEW BURGLARY CHARGES.

Are we turning the corner on crime in Memphis? Sure does feel like it.

As many of those arrested in Operation Broken Bottles last year have sat in jail for months. Some are still in jail~!

And guess what happened while they sat? Well, for the most part, everything got quiet on the retail burglary front.

So, as a company who was burglarized three times in 13 months, we are thrilled Operation Broken Bottles led to major arrests, jail time, and tamped down this criminal activity.

But also, let's recognize that soon as some of these individuals are released, they have returned back to crime. And now, they need to face serious jail time; as diversion or probation should have never been in the cards to begin with.

Just as promising over this last weekend are the arrests and confiscation of several vehicles citing the new law passed in TN banning drag racing. Now, let's please go after these car theft criminals with the same type vigor.

In closing, THANK YOU Memphis Police Department est.1827, Shelby County District Attorney's Office, Memphis Shelby Crime Commission, Senator Brent Taylor, and Representative John Gillespie for listening to your citizens and demanding positive results on crime. Please keep up the good work~!

PS. Dear Media, please share follow-up reports on sentencing and jail time to show our citizens the positive aspects of our judicial system and to send a message to criminals this behavior will not be tolerated.
