Not only is Portugal one of the most beautiful places on Earth, it is also home to some of the best wineries! While not all wineries continue the tradition of stomping grapes, there are many Quintas in the Douro Valley that keep the tradition alive! At wineries like Quinta da Pacheca, you get to be a part of the port making process! You get to stand barefoot in either a modern steel vat or a traditional stone Largares and stomp grapes! Give us a call to plan your next adventure!

If you’re anything like us, this summer heat wave is making you wish you were lounging by some beautiful body of water! All over the world there are these incredible naturally pink lakes, but did you know that you could find one here in the United States? During the late summer and fall seasons, the Great Salt Lake in Utah turns bright pink due to certain salt-loving microorganisms that contain pink algae. You will be able to find the most concentrated hues at the lake’s northeastern shore in Rozel Point! In Rozel Point, you can also visit what’s known as the Spiral Jetty, which is a glorious piece of land art created by Robert Smithson in 1970 out of 6,000 tons of black basalt rock! Give us a call to plan your next adventure in Utah!

We’re busy planning a 10 night trip to Thailand in December for an adventurous family and figured someone out there might appreciate the nudge…This family will stop briefly in Bangkok, and then head to Chang Mai, where they will discover an elephant sanctuary and beautiful national parks (pictured here). From there, they will go to two islands, Koh Kood and Koh Samui (the current filming location for the White Lotus). We would love to take you to Thailand, too!

Depending on how adventurous you and your family are, you can book rafting trips that last from as short as 3 days or as long as 13 days! This adventure is best between the months of April and September. Give us a call soon so we can book the rafting adventure of your dreams!

Congratulations to Team USA on their performance so far at the 2024 Olympics! Not only are the incredible athletes entertaining us, but the city of Paris is really shining, isn't it? Fun fact: Did you notice that Olympic skateboarding course is paying homage to various Parisian locales? Not only is the Olympic skatepark housed at Place de la Concorde, which is a plaza containing statues that represent major French cities, but the course itself contains designs that mimic the Arc de Triomphe, as seen in the Triomphe Rails, and the Catacombs, which is referenced in the Deep End. Watching this beautiful city in all its glory sure makes us want to go to Paris (after the olympics, of course!). We would love to help you plan your next trip there in the fall or beyond! Go Team USA!!! 🇺🇸

When traveling, we place great emphasis on dining and eating at the best local spots. For those of you who share our passion for this topic, a food tour can also be a lot of fun and a great way to discover the most hidden and local places. We just enjoyed an amazing food tour in Amsterdam with Eating Europe. With Eating Europe, you are set up with a guide that takes you on a walking food and history tour of which ever city you are visiting! In Amsterdam, our tour guide, Maśa, took us around to a variety of local Dutch restaurants so that we could get a feel for a typical day of eating for a local. She took us to over 5 different restaurants and ended the tour on a canal cruise. Eating Europe has guides in many different cities across Europe, so give us a call to get you set up on the most amazing food tour you will experience!

Across the internet Brits are often made fun of for their food choices; however, when traveling in London, you can have some of the best meals you’re ever going to eat! In Notting Hill, you can visit Core by Clare Smyth, a Three-Star Michelin restaurant. We recommend calling us to book a reservation well in advance to ensure you can get a table near the kitchen so you can see how they prepare their beautiful courses! If you want something a bit more casual and a bit more of a local vibe, you can try The Rock and Sole Plaice where you will dine at London’s oldest fish and chips restaurant! Contact us at Trifecta Travels so we can plan a trip to London for you full of amazing food and drinks!

Happy Independence Day travelers! While fireworks on the 4th of July are the custom for celebrating American independence, there are so many other celebrations for different independence days all over the world! Indian Independence Day is celebrated on August 15th, and instead of fireworks, you can fly colorful kites to symbolize freedom! The French commemorate the storming of the Bastille on July 14th by attending Firemen’s galas where fire stations open their doors for nights of dancing, drinking and partying. Australia Day is on January 26th, and all throughout the country you can find different ways to celebrate: in Sydney, there are boat races: and in Perth, there is a giant fireworks show! Whether you choose to spend this 4th of July lighting fireworks or barbecuing, you should consider seeing how independence is celebrated across the globe! Happy 4th of July!!! 🇱🇷🎆🎇

Surround yourself with beautiful landscapes and incredible art in Japan’s art-focused island, Naoshima! Although Naoshima is a tiny island in the Seto Inland Sea, the art and culture is anything but small. This stunning locale was once unassuming, and then one day a giant yellow pumpkin appeared on the pier. Since then, the island of Naoshima has become essentially one giant art museum with a multitude of exhibitions to enjoy as you explore this one of a kind location in Japan. If art and travel interest you, give us a call so we can get you booked for a trip to glorious Naoshima!

Want to share a tip…when you make an international purchase, whether online or at a merchant, when the credit card machine asks you if you want to charge in the local currency or USD, please don’t choose USD. This is their way of making money on the transaction- the exchange rate will not be favorable.
Happy, smart travels!!!

There are waterfalls, and there are WATERFALLS!

Iguazu Falls, located on the border of Argentina and Brazil, is one of the New7Wonders of Nature. The name “Iguazu” means “big water” in the indigenous Guarani language, and the falls certainly live up to this name as they form the largest waterfall system globally, surpassing even Niagara Falls.

National parks on both the Argentine and Brazilian sides offer various walking trails and lookouts, allowing visitors to appreciate the falls from differing vantage points. Though, no matter which side they are on, visitors can’t help but experience the sheer power and intensity of the falls, which create a rainbow-like mist and a deafening roar that can be heard from miles away.

The New7Wonders of Nature draw millions of visitors each year and represent some of the most stunning natural formations on Earth. Along with Iguazu falls, the impressive list includes the Amazon Rainforest in South America, Halong Bay in Vietnam, Jeju Island in South Korea, Komodo National Park in Indonesia, Puerto Princesa Underground River in the Phillipines, and Table Mountain in South Africa. Are any of these incredible wonders on your travel list?

When it’s cold and snowy outside, planning client trips to beautiful, warm spots like Marbella, Spain is a welcome escape!

Situated in the Andalusia region of southern Spain on the Costa del Sol (Coast of the Sun), Marbella is a resort town known for its pristine beaches, yacht-filled marinas and its 320 days of sunshine each year.

The city’s historic old Old Town (Casco Antiguo), with its narrow cobblestone streets, orange trees and 16th century churches, is a charming contrast to its shoreline, where you’ll find luxurious resorts and beach clubs, high-end shops and Michelin-starred restaurants like Lena Marbella, which was named one of the most beautiful restaurants in the world.

The backdrop of the Sierra Blanca mountains makes Marbella is a picture perfect setting, but the beauty of the mountain range is that it forms a protective barrier to the elements; making the temperature milder in the summer months and warmer in the winter. It’s this unique microclimate that makes Marbella a popular year-round destination for sun-seekers and jet-setters alike and certainly one to add to your travel list!

PSA: The Summer Olympics will be held in Paris from July 26-August 11 and it’s estimated that over 15 million people will visit during the games. While it’s an exciting time for the host city, it also means unprecedented crowds and exorbitant prices for hotel rooms and more.

So, if Paris is on your travel to-do list this summer, consider visiting well before or after the games in order to avoid disappointment and frustration!

Did you know you can now fly directly into Anguilla from the US? 🙌

In the past, commercial travelers typically flew into St. Maarten and then had to take a ferry or a 10-seater plane to reach the island. However, last year, American Airlines added daily nonstop flights from JFK and Miami to Anguilla, making it even easier to get to this Caribbean paradise.

If Anguilla is on your bucket list, or if you’ve already been and can’t wait to return, now is a great time to start planning your island vacation!

If you ask a Parisian where they live, they will most likely tell you the number of their arrondissement. But what is an arrondissement, and how can it help you navigate your way around the City of Light?

Paris is divided into 20 administrative districts, known as “arrondissements”, each with its own town hall, defining landmarks and unique characteristics. These districts are numbered in a clockwise, spiral pattern, beginning with the smallest in the city center and moving outward to the largest number, 20, on the city’s eastern border. Though this layout may seem complex, it’s easy to identify which arrondissement you’re tying to get to, simply by looking at the zip code of any address.

Zip codes in Paris combine the city number (75) with the arrondissement number. For example, if you look up the address of the Louvre museum, you’ll see notice the zip code is 75001, which means the Louvre is in the 1st arrondissement. The zip code for Notre Dame Cathedral is 75004, meaning it lies within the 4th arrondissement and the Eiffel Tower’s zip code is 75007, which, of course, means it’s in the 7th arrondissement.

Another easy way to figure out which Parisian district you’re in is to look for the blue, white and green plaques that are affixed to the sides of buildings on almost every corner of the city. In addition to the plaques telling you the street name, they also list the arrondissement.

So, while finding your way around Paris may seem intimidating at first, these handy tools will help you get around more easily so you can make the most of your time in this magnificent city!
