Give 8/28 is a concentrated day of giving to support 150+ local, Black-led nonprofits at LIVEGIVEmidsouth.org on August 28. In addition to encouraging donors to contribute, the Community Foundation awarded $10,000 total in grants to 10 organizations as part of Give 8/28, including us!

In addition to encouraging donors to contribute on yesterday’s incredible Give 8/28 giving day, the Community Foundation awarded $10,000 total in grants to 10 organizations, selected among the 150+ local, Black-led nonprofits with profiles on LIVEGIVEmidsouth, our free community information system.

Urgent Appeal: Help Provide Comfort and Security to Survivors of Domestic Violence

Dear Friends and Community Members,

We urgently need your help to support individuals and families who have bravely left abusive situations and are starting anew. They have shown incredible strength and courage, but they need our assistance to make their new homes safe and comfortable.

We are looking for donations of the following items:

Furniture: Beds, sofas, tables, chairs, dressers, etc.

Household Items: Kitchenware, dishes, utensils, cookware

Linens: Sheets, blankets, towels

Electronics: Small appliances, lamps, clocks

Personal Care Items: Toiletries, cleaning supplies

How You Can Help:

Donate Items: If you have gently used items that you can spare, please consider donating them.

Spread the Word: Share this post with your network to reach more potential donors.

Volunteer: We need volunteers to help collect, transport, and distribute the donations.
