Annie Boheler, SEP works as a somatic int!macy practitioner, eco-psychedelic integration coach and is a registered medical provider & counselor. She has over 13 years of experience working with plant medicines and considers self care and earth care as one in the same thing. As an ecologist she finds passion around the connections between our interpersonal intimacy and our wider contextual landscapes.
Annie will be presenting on Somatics, Sx, & Substances. Sx and substances are often explored simultaneously and can both be considered mind altering experiences in and of themselves. Please join her for a trauma informed presentation and conversation around the taboo subjects squared. We will be centered around consent & harm reduction in the name of pleasure optimization. I will be speaking at the S*x Down South conference in Atlanta, GA this September on Somatics, S*x & Substances. My presentation will be based in harm-reduction and education relating to the intersectional topic of substances and s*x/uality with a somatics perspective foundation. Substances refers to all psychoactive compounds including but not limited to classical psychedelics, psycho-active compounds with psychedelic qualities (such as ketamine and M**A), alcohol and more. S*x is a mind altering experience for many and psychedelic experiences impacts many people’s relationship with their bodies and s*xual identity and desires. I look forward to more explicit, and experiential, education around this topic being brought into psychedelic trainings. (PS Has anyone been to this conference before!?!? - this will be my first time).

*I use the term ‘substances’ because, 1: I find it misleading to be using the term psychedelics for non-classical psychedelia (esp in lay-person’s territory), 2: mind altering compound value hierarchy is a major issue in this movement as it reinforces stigma and causes harm (in other words, people who are ‘users’ of drugs, of any variety deserve equal respect and dignity in their healthcare support community), 3: since other non-psychedelic psycho-active compounds, such as those found in nervines or stimulants and herbal plant allies, are often left out of the larger psychedelic conversation simply using the term ‘plant medicine’ can be considered a continuation of extractive and exploitative culture characteristics typical of colonial social structures.
