I understand the frustration and anger that comes with this. There is a reason though that there is a BMI cutoff. First and foremost it is for safety. The science on BMI and complications is VERY clear.

Lip filler can look beautiful, subtle, natural.

I like or in the lips. It is great for women over 40 (ah! aging!) where you lose volume and start to get fine lines and texture. You don't need to look fake, just pretty.

Come in early to get some high potency topical numbing to make it more comfortable.

Fake Botox? There are cases reported of bad Botox with unlicensed people in non healthcare settings. Real Botox is expensive. It must be frozen for efficacy. It should be applied using sterile techniques. Don't cut corners with your health. (And many times super cheap botox isn't giving you the same number of units, so it won't last long).

Training and experience matter. Something simple like liposuction can be very dangerous. Th is was talked about in my Aesthetic Society. A pediatrician was doing liposuction and a patient died. They are trying to get laws passed so doctors (and others) do not practice outside of the scope of their training and education.

Breast augmentations do not have to be large and fake. I do a lot of small, elegant breast augmentations. Breast revisions involve lots of decisions. If you have current saline implants, preop deflation can be super useful to figure out sizing and if you need a lift.

For all the moms out there, M day is coming up. We get what you have done- pregnancy, nursing, scabbed knees, dentist appointments, diastasis, shoulders to cry on.

We use drains to help remove fluid in spaces. When we elevate skin and move it, we create a space. We don’t want fluid to go into the space- we want the tissue to be touching to help it seal and glue itself back together.

Scar care is super important. After surgery you need to be an active participant in your scar healing to get a pretty scar. And there are things now which we do- kelocote (biocorneium is it with sunscreen), silicone tape. You need to clean and protect your scars. Look at them.
And there are also new scar treatments on the horizon- particularly microneedling and exosomes. Botox has been described to help with keloids. Stay up to date. Medicine is exciting and always evolving.
