Your self-worth doesn't come from what you do, but from who you are. What kind of values do you live by? How many of those values are yours, and how many of them are borrowed from others, from society, from community? Discovering your own heart values, and honoring them in your daily life will eliminate the dependency on outside validation for your self-worth. You'll be asking less from others, and rely on your own creativity, and connection with what matters for you the most. Once you have that inner sense of unique, authentic expression, you'll have a foundation that will not be shaken by outside factors that may challenge your self-worth.

Where have those Wednesday night meditation circles gone?

Where are those people who gathered around and discussed their struggles in their journey of self-discovery?

Where are the groups of people who supported each other for a more joyful and fulfilling life?

Don't tell me Covid killed our spirit.

Please don't tell me that we're too complacent behind our zoom screens.

I yearn to be in front of you and exploring life together to make some sense out of this chaos and turn our existence into a more meaningful and purposeful one.

I'm not sure, we can accomplish all of that at once, but we can certainly try to take the first step to create a community of people with growth mindset for deeper connections.

We have planned all sorts of fun and interactive games along with some refreshments to get to know each other and bond over great conversations and fulfilling interactions.

Freedom is not doing what you want. It's being free from your wants. We usually think that the ability to do whatever we feel like doing is freedom. On the contrary. Our wants come from our subconscious programming creating impulses that govern our actions. So when we think we're doing something because we want to do doesn't mean that we're consciously in control of our actions - and that's why we are not free, we're slave to our subconscious internal programming. Only when we become aware of our impulses, our wants lose their intensity, and give us more space to tame our impulses. That's when we start to taste the true freedom.

Looking for love and recognition from others? Turn inward. Look within. It's been 57 years of search for love and recognition, but I was looking at the wrong places, for the wrong reasons. When I was sharing an earlier video about workaholism and how it stems from lack of love and recognition growing up, I didn't know that the guidance I was giving was one for me. Reflecting back, I now realize that the love only comes from within with kind, caring actions for myself. Only then, I can show up as who I am. At that point, receiving love and recognition from outside becomes a moot point, as you are in full light reflection of your self. I'm curious what you think about my personal reflections and if this desire to be loved and recognized can be fulfilled the way you act and treat yourself with more kindness, care and love. My father, Samih Doğdu Özdemir, passed away on March 19, 2023. His passing was not a surprise to me, as he had been very ill over the past 3 years, experiencing a slow decline every day. Yet, I was deeply saddened when I heard the news. Of course, the loss of a father or a mother, whatever the relationship is, evokes feelings, emotions, and reminiscing about what was and what could have been. I thought I was immune to them.

Many of you, who read The Art of Becoming Unstuck, know the intricate relationship I had with my dad through the personal anecdotes I shared in the book. Well, after so many years of processing, I didn't think I had anything else to work on, until I attended his funeral.

Join me on a trip to Turkiye and listen in as Elizabeth gently and compassionately interviews me on life, death, yearning, loss, and accepting the inevitable fate awaiting us all.

Reflecting on these intimate experiences, I gained new insights, and had deeper revelations that lead me to a renewed commitment to live life even more consciously, and make better decisions to experience life's fullest potentials.

Maybe at the end of the day, the parting gift of those who embark on their last journey to light is to invite us to make the best of our remaining years, find our calling, our purpose, embrace our loved ones even more tightly, enjoy every single moment of life with more oomph!
