Annual Sales Tax Holiday
Pay no sales tax on back-to-school items and other purchases for a limited time each year.
Ohio sets aside at least three days each year (to include the first Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in August) for consumers to buy certain items without sales tax. This sales tax holiday helps families buy clothing, supplies, and more items their children may need to be successful in the coming school year.

The 2024 sales tax holiday will take place from 12 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, until 11:59 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8. Also, more purchases are eligible.

We are looking for Volunteers! Stop by the front desk to pick up your volunteer application today.

The Mentor Police and Fire Departments are hosting a Safety Forces Open House on Saturday, August 3rd, 2024, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. The event is open to the public and we welcome everyone to stop by the Police Department and Fire Department to meet and talk with some of the staff, learn about the operations, see some of the equipment, and take a quick tour. We look forward to meeting you!

We have spots available for the July 25th Celebration Lunch! Call to book your spot today(membership and reservation required).

We are looking for volunteers for the kitchen.
Volunteers work 9-1 and do a variety of tasks including food prep, serving, making sandwiches, and cooking.
Kitchen volunteers have a lot of fun and enjoy being where the action is.
If you are interested, volunteer applications are available at the front desk at the Mentor Senior Center.

Join us for a 'SENIOR DAY' at the Lake County Fair on Friday, July 26th! Seniors 60+ will be admitted FREE until 3PM that day. We will have bingo, games, entertainment, and be providing a free boxed lunch to the first 350 seniors!

We LOVE our newly finished COVERED patio! We encourage our members to check out and use the new patio. The patio doors are now unlocked so take your lunch, card game, or book, and enjoy our beautiful new patio during business hours.

Monday, July 15th is Produce Distribution day from 10-11am!

Check out the wide variety of senior services offered by Lifeline in Lake County. If you know of a senior who could benefit from any of these services, call 211 to learn more!

Our Kitchen is looking for Volunteers! We are looking for people to help our staff prepare fresh food for our members! Schedules varies, tasks vary, and there is a job for everyone! Call us at 440-974-5725 if you feel this would be a good fit for you!

Come one, come all, Mentor CityFest is just around the corner! Lake County’s largest festival will take place August 16th and 17th at Mentor Civic Center Park and the city is seeking volunteers to be a part of another successful event.

As a volunteer, you’ll play an active role in shaping the festival. Whether you’re greeting attendees, assisting with ticket or beverage sales, or helping at the information booth, your contribution directly impacts the event’s success.
