Jalapeno Peach Salsa Recipe
**************************************
3-4 Organic Ripe Peaches, Diced
½ – 1 Jalapeno, Seeded & Diced
1 Cup Red Onion, Diced
3 Tbsp. Fresh Mint, Chopped
3 Tbsp. Fresh Cilantro, Chopped
1 Organic Lime, Zest & Juice
Salt to Taste
* Add All Ingredients to a Bowl & Mix Well
* Cover & Chill for at Least 30 Minutes
I love homemade salsa!!!
Summertime is may favorite time to make salsa but my co-op had beautiful peaches today!
The salsa tastes even better when left to sit for a few hours, to allow the flavors to blend, but it rarely seems to make it that long.
This is my basic salsa template but when I have the motivation to make a fresh batch I will add whatever jumps out at me at the market or from my refrigerator.
I have used pineapple, strawberries or apples in place of the peaches. Sometimes I toss in some sweet red, yellow or orange peppers for more color and flavor, but I always seem to leave the cilantro, onion and jalapeno.

I love all of the seasons in the midwest - well, if I’m honest, winter is a bit too long for me, but I digress.
Fall is that time when we get to take walks out in the crisp fall air, pick sweet, crunchy apples and nestle into our favorite, well worn sweaters.
Fall is also the time that we tend to transition to cozy warm beverages.
That warm beverage in the morning is a ritual for many people.
For some of you, I’m sure that robust coffee is your go to. Hopefully only organic, as coffee is one of the most highly sprayed crops in the world.
I personally love the smell and taste of coffee and I used to drink it daily.
Coffee contains antioxidants like hydroxycinnamic acids and polyphenols.
Antioxidants are very effective at neutralizing reactive compounds called free radicals. This reduces oxidative damage and may help prevent diseases like heart disease, cancer, and type 2 diabetes.
However, not everyone can drink coffee. For some people it can cause problems.
Coffee contains caffeine which may overwhelm the central nervous system, cause restlessness, anxiety, digestive problems, high blood pressure, increased heart rate, or trouble sleeping in sensitive individuals.
Those with certain medical conditions may also require caffeine-restricted diets. This includes people who are taking prescription medications that can interact with caffeine
In excessive amounts, caffeine can cause muscle breakdown which, in rare cases, can lead to a dangerous condition called rhabdomyolysis. When someone is taking certain medications, for example, statin drugs for reducing cholesterol, they are at an increased risk for rhabdomyolysis. This risk increases with excessive caffeine intake.
Caffeine can become habit forming. This is not a classic addiction that is caused by illicit drugs, opioids and amphetamines, but caffeine can lead to psychological or physical dependency, especially at high doses and daily consumption. There are unpleasant withdrawal effects like the rebound headache and fatigue.

You truly are what you eat!
Do something kind for yourself.
Try adding in something healthy: a smoothie in the morning, salad at lunch, home-made hot soup for supper with lots of organic vegetables!
Then consider a probiotic supplement 1st thing in the morning or at bedtime and a prebiotic powder like Heather's Tummy Fiber (acacia) added to your Organic Green Tea or to your smoothie.
Don't forget to drink lots of pure, fresh, filtered water and schedule a daily stroll outside. Breathe in the fresh air and admire God's beautiful trees as they begin to change colors.

Your liver has many functions in your body. It metabolizes the products of digestion from the stomach, produces bile, cholesterol and fats needed by the body, processes and helps to rid the body of toxins, stores iron, maintains hormonal balance and regulates blood clotting.
If your liver becomes overwhelmed with too many toxins, or if it doesn't receive the proper nutrients to process the toxins effectively, it may leave you feeling sluggish, sick or just feeling "off your game." This can eventually lead to inflammation and disease.
