Please help us thank Amy and wish her farewell in her final week here at Central Bark Mequon.

For over 17 years Amy has worn many hats and been an integral part in making Central Bark Mequon what it is today! She started as a dog handler, made her way up to manager, and once Nicole, the owner, started a family she took over the day-to-day operations as general manager.

She has given 110%...always, striving to exceed the expectations not only of myself, but her fellow team, all our day care families, and the entire Central Bark franchise system. We have been so blessed to have someone who constantly goes above and beyond so the dogs have a great home away from home and employees have a place where they can learn, grow, and be a part of a team.

Along this journey she also helped with various changes within our Central Bark franchise system, one of them the small dog play groups your dogs have come to love every day, along with one-on-one enrichment sessions. As our system grew, she willingly put in the extra effort to test toys, adjust training and safety protocols, and create tools to ensure dog’s individual needs are met every day.

We can never thank Amy enough for all the ways she has made a difference! We are confident in her investment in the team and know they will continue to carry on with the same level of care and expertise you have come to trust.

Amy, you will be truly missed, but we know wherever life takes you, you will shine and find much success!

“I am not spoiled (with love), I’m just REALLY good at training humans.” This sentiment could not be truer for our September Dog of the Month, Melvin! To say this boy is beloved by all those around him is an understatement. All who meet him are instantly besotted by this sweet little guy. He has the most welcoming eyes, engaging smile, and the cutest pep to his step, that just melts your heart. Melvin is a fun lovin’ four year old Dachshund/Yorkie Mix, whose presence will light up any room. Just ask all his friends, Shelby, Lila, Pearl, Prince, Maggie, Luna, they will all tell you what a swell guy he is. While out in playgroup with friends, Melvin enjoys brushing up on his group play skills, bopping around on the play equipment, and playing fun games with his Enrichment Specialist. As he is quite the active fellow, his parents like to make sure he keeps his energy up, so each day he visits us, Melvin gets a snack off of our Lunch Menu that he thoroughly devours. Melvin also likes to keep a good appearance, so parents set up regular grooming appointments, on non-day care days, for Melvin to get spruced up and enjoy some one-on-one Spa time. Melvin truly brings joy into our lives with every visit. We are so thankful to have him and his family as part of our Central Bark Mequon family! May the sun continue to shine on you like the star you are Melvin; the month of September is all about you!

It's that time again—Bark to School! 📚✂️ Get your pup ready for fall by scheduling their end-of-summer haircut! A fresh trim not only keeps them looking stylish, but also helps them feel comfortable as the seasons change. Let’s make sure your furry friend starts the new season with a wag and a smile! 💜

Choosing the right brush for your dog is essential for their coat health! Here’s a quick tip:

🐶 Short-haired breeds (think Beagles, Bulldogs):
A rubber curry brush or a bristle brush works wonders to remove loose hair and stimulate the skin.

🐶 Medium-haired breeds (think Cocker Spaniels):
Opt for a slicker brush or a pin brush to detangle and keep their coat shiny.

🐶 Long-haired breeds (think Bernese Mountain Dogs):
A wide-toothed comb followed by a slicker brush helps prevent matting and keeps their beautiful, fluffy coat healthy.
