The Health Education Representatives for Opportunities to Empower Students (H.E.R.O.E.S.)
are trained student volunteers who educate their peers on various health topics, including sexual health, healthy relationships, nutrition, physical activity, alcohol/tobacco/other drug use, sleep, and stress.

The point of diminishing return and our blood alcohol concentration go hand-to-hand. Although most believe to keep the euphoric feeling you should keep drinking, that is actually false! Anything added to our system after our BAC reaches 0.06 will continue to increase our BAC and we will start to feel the negative, depressive effects of alcohol.

Today is Collegiate Recovery Day! Here at UC Merced we strive to support our students in recovery as well as throughout the UC system. If you are in recovery and looking for support and community, stop by the CAPS Recovery Support Group on Tuesdays at 2pm. You can also join the Gauchos for Recovery virtually and meet with other students outside of UC Merced.

It's important to understand what affects your BAC to prevent injury and possible alcohol poisoning. It's also important to note that each persons BAC is different based on individual factors. If someone is showing any signs of alcohol poisoning call 911 immediately!
There are various symptoms for Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) and they vary depending on the STI. But there is one symptom that is most common. Make sure to watch the video to find out what that symptom is and remember to always get tested before a new sexual partner.
